A Pokémon's nature is one of the many things that sets individual Pokémon apart from one another. Introduced in the third generation of games, a Pokémon's nature helps trainers understand their Pokémon and their statistics in reference to their Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. For example, if a Pokémon has a Brave nature, they will automatically have a 10% increase in Attack as well as a 10% decrease in Speed.
We've outlined every nature that you can encounter as well as their increased and decreased stats below:
|Nature||Increased Stat||Decreased Stat|
|Rash||Special Attack||Special Defense|
|Careful||Special Defense||Special Attack|
Unfortunately, checking on your Pokémon's nature isn't as easy as it used to be. In fact, it's easy to get lost in the new UI format that every single aspect of this game seems to use. So, where can you check a Pokémon's nature in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
Where to check a Pokémon's Nature in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
To check a Pokémon's nature in Scarlet and Violet, you will need to follow these instructions:
- Open up the game's menu by pressing the X Button.
- Hover over and select the Pokémon whose nature you want to check.
- Select the Check Summary option.
- Select the Memories option by pressing right on the D-Pad three times.
On this screen, you'll be met with a ton of information including the Pokémon's nature, the date when you met them, the location where you met them, and what level they were at when you met. You can even see what ribbons or marks they currently have. While you can't change a Pokémon's nature, you can give them a Nature Mint to increase or decrease particular stats.
