How to get Dusk Balls in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Ready to catch 'em all at night?

Part of the legacy of every Pokémon game is to find and utilize different Pokéballs to help catch mons and complete your Pokédex. This continues in the latest installment of the series, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. One of the many Pokéballs that you can acquire is the famous Dusk Ball, used to catch Pokémon easily either at night or in dark places such as caves. If you're out searching for this specific Pokéball in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, it is important to know that you must first obtain all eight gym badges.

After you have acquired all eight gym badges, you can head into any Delibird Presents store located in the cities of Mesagoza, Levincia, and Cascarrafa. Here, you will find the Dusk Ball being sold for 1,000 Pokédollars. If you do not have all eight badges, there is the possibility of finding a Dusk Ball as you journey through Paldea as a random drop. Just be on the lookout for shining objects on the ground as you travel. This isn't the most reliable way to find these balls, but it is definitely possible to do so. There is also the option to find them at the Porto Marinada Auction House for different prices depending on availability.

How to use Dusk Balls in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The Dusk Ball can be used at any time of the day, but has three times the catch rate if you use it at night or in a dark place. Just ensure that you have weakened the Pokémon of your choice and choose the Dusk Ball when you are selecting which Pokéball you'd like to use. Because of the effort required to acquire these balls, we definitely recommend using them if you happen to encounter a shiny Pokémon at night or in a cave.
