How to get Oval Stone in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Look for a round stone.

There are numerous items and ways to evolve your Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Sometimes, these will come together, as some Pokémon only evolve through specific items. One such item is the Oval Stone, which you will need to evolve Happiny. This may leave you wondering where to find an Oval Stone in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

You can find Oval Stones throughout Paldea in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but the most common method relies on chance. As you are traveling, keep an eye out for glimmers on the ground, as these will have a chance to be an Oval Stone. We got lucky and found some in Asado Desert, but you will likely need to spend a lot of time gathering these before you get an Oval Stone.

There are also static locations where you are guaranteed an Oval Stone. We found one in Levincia City, home of the Electric-type gym. Head to the northern part of the city and find the Rough and Tough and Delibird Presents stores. It can be found roughly between them at the marked location below.

The Oval Stone is a particular held item that will evolve Happiny. No other Pokémon uses this method to evolve, and there isn't much use outside of evolving Happiny into Chansey. So unless you want multiple Chanseys, you really only need one Oval Stone.
