How to get and use the Coin Bag in Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO trainers now have the opportunity to catch Pokémon from the Paldea region, which is exclusive to the Switch games Scarlet and Violet. This exciting news comes as a result of the connectivity between the two titles, allowing for an even more immersive Pokémoncatching experience. To obtain the new Paldea region Pokémon, mobile Trainers who also own a Switch will need to use an item called the Coin Bag.

1. Connect your Pokémon GO account with your Pokémon Scarlet or Violet game save by opening the Poké Portal menu in your Switch game.
2. Select the Mystery Gift option.
3. Choose Connect to Pokémon GO.
4. In your Pokémon GO settings, look for the Nintendo Switch button and connect your account.
5. Send a Postcard from Pokémon GO to Scarlet or Violet to unlock the Coin Bag in your inventory.
   • Open your Trainer Profile Page in Pokémon GO.
   • Select a Postcard from the Postcard Book menu.
   • Send it to your Switch game.

Once you receive the Postcard on your Switch, you'll obtain the Coin Bag. The Coin Bag can be used to catch Roaming Form Gimmighouls and obtain more Golden Lures. Every time you use the Coin Bag, Gimmighouls will spawn around you for 30 minutes. However, you can only do this once per day since the Coin Bag is usable once you've sent a Postcard. As mentioned before, the first time you send one, you'll acquire the Bag, but the second and subsequent times you'll receive Golden Lure instead.
