When does R6 Operation Deep Freeze come out?

The release date for R6 Operation Deep Freeze is November 28, 2023, as soon as Operation Heavy Mettle ends. However, if you're very interested in the new Rainbow Six Siege updates like I am, you can install the Rainbow Six test servers that are live now and try them out.

New Rainbow Six Siege operator Tubarao

The new Rainbow Six Siege operator is Tubarão, joining the defense roster. He comes equipped with throwable Zoto canisters that freeze any area they come into contact with.

The attackers will be slowed down if they step over the frozen ground. They will also leave visible footsteps on the floor, but there is a catch. The footsteps can also be seen on the ceiling from the floor below, making Tubarão an intel operator.

The Zoto canisters will also affect gadgets by either entirely stopping or pausing them for the duration of the freeze. For breachers like Thermite, his charge will only be paused, giving you a few precious seconds to plan your next move. The canisters will also affect claymores, allowing Tubarão to sneak up on attackers who think they are safe.

Tubarão gives a buff to Bandit, freezing the reinforced walls and letting Bandit trick just like Kaid can. I've tried to trick with Bandit and died one too many times, so you can tell I'm very excited about this update. Tubarão also works great with Kaid and Mute, joining their group of gadget deniers.

The Zoto canisters won't work on frag grenades, Maverick's torch, or Zofia's explosive charge. Twitch drones and Zoro cams can destroy them. However, since the effect only lasts a few seconds, it might be best to wait it out and use their lasers to destroy other gadgets.

New Rainbow Six Siege map 'Lair'

The new Rainbow Six Siege map 'Lair' is set on the coast of Portugal. It is the lair of Deimos, a former Rainbow operator gone rogue. Inside a giant cave, this military facility contains three floors: the basement, the first, and the second.

Set in cave systems, with a shooting range and a unique layout, this map looks like it will be fun to play on. Let's hope it is as good as it seems, as 'Lair' won't be bannable during Operation Deep Freeze.

Rainbow Six Siege x Street Fighter

The new update gifts us a Rainbow Six Siege x Street Fighter collaboration. These Ying and Grim Street Fighter character skins let you play as Chun-li and Ryu. Yes, they're bringing the fists to a gunfight. Besides the operator skins, these cosmetic bundles also include weapon skins, charms, and operator portraits.
