A critical bug is currently affecting Roblox’s Data Store Servers

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

In a bit of breaking news, it looks like Roblox is experiencing some pretty big issues with their datastore servers. If you aren't familiar with what these are, they are what store all of the data from games where things are collected and save. This particularly affects games like Adopt Me!, Welcome to Bloxburg, Shinobi Life 2, and a whole lot of other games. it is being highly recommended right now that you do not play games like this until the issue is resolved, because any progress you make will not be saved.

This bug is so big that Adopt Me! has set their game to private and has issued the following statement:

Adopt Me has temporarily been turned private due to a critical bug with Roblox's Datastore Servers. If you've experienced the bug and noticed your save has been reset and you lost items, don't worry - your inventory will return to normal once the issue's been fixed.

If you head over to the status page for Roblox, you can see that Engineers are currently investigating the issue as we speak.

There's no current timetable for when things will be back online, so make sure not to spend any Robux on anything in-game at the moment. You will also just want to play games that don't store data, or ones that you won't care if you lose any of the progress you gain. This would be stuff like shooters or obby games where you are just playing for the fun of it!

Keep in mind that this isn't the fault of any game itself. The issue is with Roblox the platform, no specific game caused this problem and it will be fixed as soon as it can be. Roblox and all of the games that you play never want to be down, so yelling and screaming at them because you can't play isn't going to solve anything!
