All Pans in Prospecting Roblox
Pans are the most important pieces of basic gear in Prospecting. They provide the base Luck, Capacity, Shake Strength, and Shake Speed of your kit, and some also have other passive bonuses. As a rule of thumb, you'll always want to buy a better pan before you invest in a new shovel.
How Pan Stats Work
- Luck: Affects how often you'll get rarer minerals. It scales linearly (a player with 500 Luck will have 10x the chance for rarer minerals compared to a player with 50 Luck).
- Capacity: Affects the average number of ores you will get in the pan and their average size. The number of ores is equal to the square root of your Capacity (400 Capacity = 20 Ores on average).
- Shake Strength: Affects how much progress you'll get with each shake during the shaking mini-game.
- Shake Speed: Affects the minimum cooldown between each shake during the shaking mini-game.

All Shovels in Prospecting Roblox
Shovels are the second most important piece of your kit in Prospecting. They determine your base Dig Strength and Dig Speed, as well as in which areas you can mine with them (Toughness). Generally, you'll always want to use the best shovel you have. However, if you're grinding in low-toughness areas and have the best crafted items to give you Dig Strength, you can also use the Meteoric Shovel or some other shovel with high base Dig Speed.
How Shovel Stats Work
- Dig Strength: Affects how much progress you'll make with each dig during the digging mini-game.
- Dig Speed: Affects how quickly the pointer moves during the digging mini-game. This is the base value that is then multiplied by the speed bonuses from crafted items and other sources.
- Toughness: Affects which areas you can mine in. Higher values are needed for the best areas.

Sluices are the least important piece of gear in Prospecting, and investing in them will simply not pay off as much as you'd want it to. It's best to leave buying the best sluice for last, after you've crafted all the best gear you can and bought out the best shovels and pans.
How Sluice Stats Work
- Luck: Determines the Luck that the sluice will have. This value can't be changed or buffed.
- Capacity: Determines exactly how many ores you'll get from the sluice. For example, a 75 capacity sluice will net 75 ores.
- Toughness: Determines in which areas you can deploy the sluice. If the area's toughness is too high, you won't be able to place it.
- Efficiency: Determines how long the sluice will take to produce each ore (higher value means lower time).

How to get the Waterfall Cave shovel and pan?
To open the Waterfall Cave door in the Crystal Cavern you'll need Emerald, Diamond, and Starshine. Place each one into the slots on the wall, and the door will open. You'll be able to buy the Earthbreaker shovel and the Worldshaker pan there.
Are sluices even worth buying?
Sluices aren't really worth buying. The returns on using them are basically irrelevant.
