Roblox Bake or Die Beginner’s Guide

Bake, shoot, explore, repeat!

Bake or Die is a fun zombie survival experience that somewhat resembles the likes of Dead Rail, so players coming over from that game should get the hang of this one quickly. However, Bake or Die has its own set of unique mechanics that can be somewhat complicated to understand, especially for brand-new players. While the game offers a short tutorial that explains the core basics of the gameplay loop, it does little else to elaborate on how to efficiently spend your limited daytime. With that in mind, we have decided to create this comprehensive beginner's guide and, in doing so, extend a helping hand to help you become the best baker out there. So make sure to stick around!

How to Farm Nuggets in Bake or Die

Nuggets are the main currency in Bake or Die, primarily used to purchase different classes. With that in mind, it is important to know how you can farm them, and thankfully, there are several tested methods that work. They are as follows:

  1. Collect in-game Badges: They can be found on the left side of the game screen, represented by a scroll icon. Badges are given when reaching certain milestones in the game, and they will reward you with 1-10 gold nuggets, depending on how difficult they are. If you manage to obtain all of them, you will get a total of 47 nuggets. Some of them are ridiculously easy to obtain, such as the ones requiring you to bake a single pie or collect a single blueprint, and most of them can be achieved through regular gameplay, so just do not forget to redeem them!
  2. Complete Daily Quests: There is a quest board in the game's lobby, and it offers three quests that vary in requirements, with rewards being 1-3 gold nuggets depending on how difficult they are. They refresh every 24 hours, and there is a timer on the board that keeps track of the cycle, so make sure to finish any quests that you have started in order not to lose your progress!
  3. Scavenge the dilapidated houses during gameplay: As you play the game, you will notice that there are plenty of run-down houses scattered all across the map. Chests can randomly spawn in some of them, and looting them may provide you with gold nuggets.
  4. Buy Nuggets with Robux: If you want to use the best classes right from the get-go, cannot be bothered to grind, or are in a hurry, you can always buy them for Robux from the Nuggets stand in the lobby.

Best Classes in Bake or Die

Selecting a proper class that molds around your desired way of playing the game is a cornerstone of being a successful survivor. You can buy different classes from the Class shop located inside the lobby. While we have thoroughly described all of the classes in our class tier list, you should know that any class is better than no class, and all of the classes are perfectly viable and offer a wide variety of benefits. The ones that stand out the most are the Gunslinger, Necromancer, Bombastica, and Doctor, so feel free to experiment with them and find the ones that suit you the most!

How to Survive the Easiest and Longest

While the core gameplay loop of the game is simple in nature and can easily be understood by all, we will tell you the optimal way of doing things inside Bake or Die while focusing on daytime activities. This is because tangible progress can be made during this time, the amount of which determines how easily you get through the night (or don't).

Firstly, get familiar with baking the pies and get used to moving as quickly as possible. Pie baking is the most important activity and the main way you will earn Cash and, in turn, upgrade your base, so make sure you do it as efficiently as possible. This involves collecting all the dead zombies you have killed the previous night, without letting them spoil, as doing so can set you back a lot, especially in the early game. Also, bear in mind that the only part of the pie-baking process that is not instantaneous is the act of cooking the pies in the oven, so you can use that time to do other things, such as grinding zombie corpses and mixing the ingredients.

Pro tip: Never mix several different types of activities! For example, while you are baking, only do the baking activities, and if you are crafting, only do the crafting-related work. This is to prevent the feeling of being overwhelmed, which can start figuratively pulling you in various directions, causing you to not fully complete anything! You can easily forget important stuff, such as actually selling the pies you baked, so always keep this in mind.

Secondly, continue with the crafting-related work. This should always come after baking, for the day has ended, as it mostly provides you with superficial upgrades rather than ones you can purchase with hard cash. Of course, there are exceptions to this, and we will explain them later.

Thirdly, proceed to shop and explore, or both if you have time. The main things to look out for when shopping are the guns, which can completely trivialize some zombie encounters. The first gun that is worth purchasing is the M1 Garand, followed by the Sawed-Off and the SMG. When it comes to exploring, focus on looking for the trapped NPCs, which will provide you with blueprints when you free them, allowing you to craft more stuff. One noteworthy item that is extremely good and absolutely should be crafted as soon as its blueprint is acquired is the automatic defense turret. As the name suggests, it will shoot zombies on its own when placed, but keep in mind that you will have to feed it with ammo, which can be purchased at the Gunsmith's store.

Lastly, finish up the day by repairing any damaged defenses inside your base. Doing so will ensure that the zombies have a harder time when breaking through inside your base, thus giving you ample time to dispatch them as efficiently as possible. Rinse and repeat, and success is guaranteed!
