The current Clover Origins meta is all over the place, and the in-game rarities of the Grimoires aren’t fully justified. That’s why, while deciding the ranking for our Clover Origins Grimoires tier list, we’ve focused more on how the Grimoires perform across the gamemodes in real-time instead of fixating on the rarities and how the moves look on paper.
The tier list above definitely has some surprises, but read on to see the pros and cons of each Grimoire, and you’ll understand why we’ve ranked the Grimoires the way we have.
SS Tier - Best Grimoires in Clover Origins
| Grimoire | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Time Magic Mythical | + Completely OP in PvP if you can master its defensive moves. + Gives you the Time Mount for free. + Has one of the strongest Ultimate moves in the game that does massive AoE damage. + The perfect moveset that allows you to set up and execute combos easily. Very useful in PvP. + Decent performance across PvE as well. |
![]() Light Magic Mythical | + The best Grimoire in Clover Origins right now for PvE. + Moves do massive AoE damage, and the DPS is one of the highest in the game. + Decent performance in PvP because of the defensive and mobility moves. |
S Tier
| Grimoire | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Wind Legendary | + A very good option for both PvP and PvE content. + Has the best AoE moves in the game, especially with Wind Transformation. + Can potentially clear mobs with one move, making it excellent for farming rare mob drops. + High and consistent DPS against mobs, bosses, and other PvP players. |
![]() Fire Magna Epic | + The best Epic Grimoire in the game. + Easy to get early and scales well. Can easily help you clear mid and sub-late game content. + Can easily one-shot mobs with enough scaling. - Struggles in PvP and against bosses. |
A Tier
| Grimoire | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Anti-Magic Legendary | + A massive moveset with some of the best AoE moves in the game. Excellent for PvE farming and boss fights. + Offers good survivability because of the lifesteal passive. + You can become almost invincible with the Demon Transformation. + Scales with Melee and Sword. - Poor PvP performance. |
![]() Lightning Epic | + Excellent damage output with every skill, especially the C move (Lightning Speed). + You get a mix of ranged and AoE moves that’s great for both PvP and PvE. + Low cooldowns on the majority of moves. - Requires perfect aim. If you can hit the target completely, you’ll deal massive damage. A little mistake and there’s a major DPS fall-off. |
![]() Dark Epic | + An excellent Grimoire for mid-to-late-game farming due to high AoE damage output. + One of the more consistent Grimoires in the game. + Z move has a massive range that can be useful in boss fights. - Not the best option to use in PvP content. |
B Tier
| Grimoire | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Earth Uncommon | + One of the best Grimoires to use for beginners. + Excellent performance in PvE (early to mid-game content, especially against bosses). + Offers a good mix of offense and defense. + Very good AoE moves that deal decent damage. - Falls off in PvP. |
![]() Water Rare | + A decent Grimoire for early to midgame players. + Decent performance in both PvP and PvE. + Very good damage on some moves for a Rare Grimoire. + Also offers some healing/health regen. - Unreliable and inconsistent. Some moves are hard to land, which can cause problems in PvP and boss fights. |
![]() Fire Rare | + Excellent for farming mob drops. Decent AoE attacks in the moveset that speed up the mob quest clears. + Good damage, especially with the Burn passive. + Decent for both PvP and PvE content. - Low scaling potential. Eventually needs to be replaced with better Grimoires. |
C Tier
| Grimoire | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Regen Common | + Provides healing and health regeneration that can boost survivability. - Feels redundant once you scale your base health and start clearing mobs/enemies without needing heal/regen. - Does minimal damage, which can cause problems. |
![]() Reinforcement Common | - Very clunky moveset. Animations take too long, which is disastrous in PvP and PvE boss fights. - Weakest transformation move in the game. - Low damage output on all moves. - Poor scaling. Not worth investing in at all. |
