In DIG, you can increase your digging profits and efficiency in various ways, one of them being through Totems. These powerful AoE items provide temporary buffs that apply to everyone within their radius, not just the person who activates them. If used properly, Totems can transform a standard dig session into a high-value treasure run. So, here’s everything you need to know to get and use them effectively.
How to Get Totems in DIG

Totems in DIG come from three primary sources, namely shops, questlines, and rare drops. The easiest Totems to acquire are shop-based, as they cost in-game currency and are region-specific. As you progress to new areas like Cinder Shores, Alona Jungle, and Meteor, you’ll find new Totems that suit the local terrain and loot potential.
In addition to shop purchases, Totems are also given as rewards from specific questlines. These are free, making them ideal for players who don’t want to spend money. Finally, totems such as the Spore Totem are hidden drops through item-specific RNG, making them rare and valuable.

How to Use Totems in DIG

Using a Totem is simple. Once it’s in your inventory, head to a digging site and activate it. The Totem will form a glowing pillar and apply its effects to any player standing within its radius. This makes it especially useful during community dig sessions or when farming shiny or mutated items.
If another player places a Totem nearby, the game automatically creates a Totem Stack. Up to three Totems can be stacked at once, with their effects overlapping. However, keep in mind that once all active Totems expire, the stack dissolves, and buffs are removed.
Because Totems only trigger after a specific number of items have been dug, you need to stay active for them to take effect. Also, you need to be level 10+ to buy and use Totems in DIG.
