At first glance, Fake an Egg might seem like your typical, run-of-the-mill experience. With that in mind, we created this complete Fake an Egg beginner's guide to clarify everything, so keep reading!
How to Farm Money in Fake an Egg?

The most effective way to farm money in Fake an Egg is to acquire the best possible pets as quickly as possible. There are several ways to do this. Namely, you can either purchase them from the middle of the map, or steal them from other players. Since stealing differs significantly from buying pets the normal way, we'll cover it in a separate paragraph below. For now, we'll stick to the standard methods: rebirthing, claiming index rewards, increasing your pen size, and feeding your pets.
When you first start the game, the tutorial will give you your first egg: the Bunny Egg. Once you hatch it, you will get the Bunny Pet and can place it in your pet pen, where it will start making you money over time. This tutorial explains the core gameplay loop well, while also giving you that initial capital boost you need to start buying better pet eggs.
As soon as you finish the initial tutorial, we highly recommend you like the game in the Roblox client and join its group. This is a worthwhile time investment, since it lets you release the shark pet trapped in a cage near the middle of the map. Once you do this, approach it and interact with it to make it your own pet. The shark is much better than any other pets you can get early in Fake an Egg, which is why we feel it is worth pursuing. It will make you plenty of cash early on, enabling you to snowball into acquiring even better pets quickly.
Now that you have your first pets, consider rebirthing, since unlike in some other Roblox games, it doesn't remove your current pets. Instead, it only removes your current cash, while giving you a permanent cash multiplier increase and other handy features like the egg hatch speed-up multiplier. We feel you should rebirth as early as possible because these multipliers stay with you forever while only costing a small amount of early-game money. To rebirth, click the button with the red and white arrows on the far right side of your screen, and check the requirements. They're very trivial at first, involving getting starter pets like the Chicken and reaching a small amount of cash.
Once you've done that, focus on upgrading your pet pen size and your pets' quality. The former lets you collect more pets, while the latter is pretty straightforward: the better your pets, the more money they make. To increase your pen size in Fake an Egg, go to the back, jump over the fence, and click the sign to see how much you need to pay to upgrade. Keep in mind that each subsequent pen size upgrade gets exponentially more expensive than the last, and each only lets you hold one extra pet, so you may want to save up more cash beforehand. This is recommended because you can buy several upgrades at once, rather than buying one at a time and not feeling any improvement.
Important information: if your pen is full but you cannot afford the next pen size upgrade, click the "Pets" button on the right side of the screen. This will bring up the full list of pets you currently own, listed from top to bottom by how much money they make. Find the ones that make the least, unequip them, and sell them at the shop next to the Leaderboards to free up space for newer, better pets while cashing in on the ones you no longer want.
Your pets can also be fed. Every player gets a pet feeder, located on the left side of their base. You can fill it with food, which lets your pets earn up to 50% more money than usual, as long as they have enough food. You can buy pet food from a designated shop which is located right next to the aforementioned caged shark pet. Food is cheap, and even minimal investments in the cheapest options, such as the Carrot, can boost your pets by roughly 10-20% more than usual, so buy it as often as you can.
Additionally, as a quick way to redeem some easy cash while you play, you can occasionally visit the index, represented by the blue book button on the right side of the main game screen. Here, you can track all the Pets, Weathers, and Mutations you have encountered during gameplay and redeem rewards for doing so.
Finally, your pet pen continues to make money when you are offline, so you can technically farm cash even when you're not playing.
How to Use the Fuse Machine in Fake an Egg

A great alternative to selling unwanted pets. Specifically, you can fuse them inside the Fuse Machine. This machine is near the Leaderboards, right next to the shop where you can sell pets. Equip three pets, approach the machine with each in hand, and they will automatically be placed inside. You can then initiate the fusion process, which is instantaneous in this game, and redeem your combined, much better pet. The fuse machine in Fake an Egg can also apply Mutations to the resulting pet, making it even better.
What Mutations and Traits Can Pets Get in Fake an Egg?

In Fake an Egg, mutations are positive attributes that can randomly appear on eggs that spawn in the middle of the map. They are the Gold, Diamond, and Rainbow mutations, and they make the pet that hatches from it earn more money than its standard counterpart. Don't confuse them with Traits, separate positive properties that can be added to pet eggs during their respective Weather events.
All of the traits also provide significant cash multipliers to afflicted pets, and you can find the exact values as well as the exact weather events when they can occur in the table below, listed from least to most valuable:
| Trait | Spawns during Weather | Income Multiplier |
|---|---|---|
| Disco | Dance Party | x2 Cash |
| Haunted | Halloween Event Exclusive | x2 Cash |
| Sea | Underwater | x3 Cash |
| Cursed | Blood Moon | x3.5 Cash |
| Volcano | Volcano | x4 Cash |
| Acid | Acid Rain | x4.5 Cash |
| Meteor | Meteor Shower | x5.5 Cash |
| Electric | Thunderstorm | x6 Cash |
| Tornado | Tornado | x6.5 Cash |
| Eclipse | Solar Eclipse | x7 Cash |
In Fake an Egg, Random Weather events occur periodically on their own, or you can manually trigger them by spending Robux in the Weather Machine. This machine is located alongside the trapped shark pet and the Pet Food shop.
How to Steal Pets Efficiently in Fake an Egg?
As we have mentioned earlier, stealing pets is one of the core gameplay mechanics in Fake an Egg. It is a great way to quickly improve your pet collection and earn much more money than usual. As you play the tutorial, the game will explain the basic principle of disguise: jump into the tube inside your pen, select your disguise, and wait to get stolen. While the basic principle is easy, we'll cover advanced tactics you can use to trick other players into getting inside their pens.
While any disguise works and can eventually get picked up by unsuspecting victims, your chances of success depend on the idle egg behavior and the specific disguise you pick. As you scout the middle of the map, take note of how normal eggs usually move. Namely, while they always jump and turn unpredictably, they change direction at the same speed and never make rapid 360-degree turns, so try to mimic that while you are disguised. They also never seem to take long breaks between jumps and start moving right off the bat as soon as they're dropped inside the spawning area. Try to replicate all of these behaviors. Also, the eggs most likely to be stolen are the ones needed to perform Rebirths. Thankfully, the game shows us exactly that by floating the eggs each player needs above their bases, so disguising yourself as one of them makes it easier for a greedy player to pick you up. Lastly, try picking the pens close to your own, since even after you successfully infiltrate and steal a pet, you have to take it back, giving the victim a chance to fight back with a bat. This keeps the way back short (and sweet).
Likewise, if you have no interest in thievery and want to avoid having pets stolen from you, you should still note these behaviors to know what to expect. You can also use the scanners described in the next paragraph.
What does the Scanner Gear do and how can I get it?

Scanners function as gear in this game, and they are extremely helpful for preventing your pets from being stolen. They tell you which egg is real and which is an impostor. Just approach the egg with a scanner in hand, interact with it, and it will give you the information. The scanner, however, is one-time use, meaning it disappears after you use it the first time. You can get more from the Scanner Shop, which overlooks the middle of the map, tucked between the Weather Machine and the Food Shop. You can also obtain more by completing Index collections and rebirthing
Scanners come in several rarities, from Common and Rare to Exotic and Divine, and you can only use them on eggs of the same rarity. For example, an Uncommon scanner works only on Uncommon eggs, while a Legendary scanner gives info only on Legendary eggs.
