The Nuke in Fisch is a Mythical item that came alongside the Forsaken Shores expansion. Its rarity and power have turned it into one of the most greatly desired items in the game, but catching one is a huge headache. This guide will walk you through every detail you need to know about finding, catching, and using a Nuke in Fisch.
What is the Nuke in Fisch?
This Mythical catch can appear alongside any other fish, meaning you might not even realize you’ve hooked it until you see the minigame prompt. Successfully catching it allows you to store it in your inventory for manual detonation later. However, if you fail the balancing minigame, the Nuke will explode immediately, triggering a nuclear mutation event.
Although the item is regionless, it doesn't have any particular fishing locations that are easier to catch it from. Unlike the Magic Thread, for example, which can be readily caught from the waterfall on the Ancient Isle. These are the known stats for the Nuke:
Category | Stats |
---|---|
Rarity | Mythical. |
Catch Chance | Approximately 1/50,000 without luck boosts. |
Location | Regionless – it can be caught anywhere in the game. |
Bait | No Preferences. |
Weather/Time/Season | No Preferences. |
Special Effect | Triggers a nuclear mutation event, increasing fish value by 4x in the area. |
How to Catch a Nuke in Fisch
The Nuke has an extremely low chance of appearing (roughly 1/50,000), so maximizing your luck is crucial. Use the best rods, bait, and enchantments to boost your odds significantly. Once hooked, a balancing minigame begins. You’ll need to press the Q and E keys to shift left and right, keeping the arrow within the green zone. Successfully finishing in the green zone stores the Nuke in your inventory. If you fail, it detonates on the spot, triggering its event.
Stored Nukes can be detonated manually from your inventory. However, remember that each time you retrieve the Nuke, the balancing minigame will need to be completed again.
Nuke Locations
As this item is regionless, you can catch a Nuke in any of these locations:
- Moosewood
- The Ocean
- Sunstone island
- Terrapin Island
- Roslit bay
- Roslit Volcano
- The Arch
- Snowcap island
- Mushgrove swamp
- Vertigo
- The Depths
- Keepers altar
- Desolate Deep
- Brine Pool
- Forsaken Shore
- Ancient Isle
- Ancient Archives
How to Use a Nuke
When a Nuke detonates, a nuclear mutation event begins, lasting for 30 minutes. During this time all fish caught in the affected area gain the Nuclear mutation. Nuclear fish sell for 4x their original value. To make the most of a nuclear mutation event pair the Nuke with the Aurora Borealis weather event for better chances at highly valuable catches.
To locate the mutation zone, use a Fish Radar, purchasable at Moosewood docks from the Shipwright NPC for 8,000C$. This tool highlights the event area with a green outline and displays the remaining time for the mutation. Purchasable at Moosewood docks from the Shipwright NPC for 8,000C$. Recommended Equipment for Catching a Nuke in Fisch
Choosing the right rod, bait, and enchantment for your rod makes all the difference when fishing in Fisch. Below, I've added tables for the rods and bait in Fisch with the highest luck stats, and recommended a few enchantments that could help you out on your Nuke hunt. Although it isn't listed, I'm also going to suggest the Steady Rod, which is one of the best rods in the game for rarer catches. It does have low luck though (35%), so be sure to pair it with a luck-boosting enchantment and high-luck bait.
