How to Escape The Sunken Bastille in Apocrypha
You enter the Sunken Bastille in Apocrypha by talking to the Nero NPC standing near the wheelhouse, but how do you escape it? Once you complete the mission by killing the guard and returning Nero's valuable item to him, you won't be teleported to the Flying Airship automatically. Instead, you now have to find a key and travel deep into the dungeon to get back.
Make sure to take your time and explore the dungeon because you can get different materials, items, and weapons from the Sunken Bastille for free. Once you're done exploring, here's how to escape:
Where to Find the Treasure Chest and Get the Key

The Sunken Bastille has tons of prison cells. One of these prison cells has a treasure chest that holds the key to every door. To find this treasure chest and get the key, you have to enter a prison cell that has a broken door and a crack in its left wall.
Go to the area where the Guard is and you'll see that the left corner prison cell has a broken door. Enter it and look to your right to find a crack in the wall. Crouch and walk through the crack to enter the adjoining cell, then jump through another broken wall to reach the third cell and find a treasure chest. Open it and grab the key from inside.
The Hidden Hallway Location
Exit the cell using the key and look to your left. You'll see a few wooden crates and barrels. To the right of those crates and barrels is another crack in the wall. Enter through there to reach the hidden hallway.
- Go left, take the first right, and go straight to the end of the hallway to find another locked door.
- Open the door using the same key and exit the chamber. You'll find broken pillars and fire pots hanging in front of you with water underneath.
- Using your Obby skills, cross the water to reach another door that leads into another hallway.
- Open the door, take a left, go straight, and take a right at the end to find a ladder.
- Press space and climb up the ladder, and keep going straight until you reach a giant gate with a lever on its right.

Pull the first lever to open the first gate and walk through to find two more similar gates. The gate on your left has another lever that you can pull to open it up. Open that gate and you'll see another gate that does not have a lever. That's the gate that you want to open. Here's how you do that:
- Open the second gate.
- Go back to the lever of the first gate and push it down.
- This will close the first gate but open the third gate for a short period.
- Sprint through the three gates to enter another hallway.
- Walk straight to the end of the hallway and you'll find another giant door.
- Go near that door and press E to get teleported back to the Flying Airship.
