The Halloween Spotlight is a Roblox event live from October 23 until November 3, 2025. During this time, you'll need to complete quests to collect Runes and Keys, if you want to get all of the coolest UGC Rewards in the Halloween Spotlight. If you're unsure how to unlock all rewards, then follow our easy guide below!
Halloween Spotlight Event Guide
The Roblox 2025 Halloween event has been a little confusing, with many areas, time-locked access to certain sections and rewards, and not a lot of clear instruction. That's why we're here to help you and explain how exactly the Halloween Spotlight works in our event guide.
- Quavering Compass - Go down to the Cursed Clearing in the Halloween Spotlight hub and grab the Compass. This item will quite literally guide you to where you need to go and what you need to do.
- Runes - Completing regular quests will give you Runes. These can be then used to unlock different paths to Portals, where you can unlock more Rewards. Portals are time-locked, which means not all will be open at all times. Instead, you'll have to wait until a new section unlocks, prolonging the event itself.
- Keys - Elite challenges provide you with Keys which open additional paths to premium rewards. While the Rune paths will require some puzzle work, the Key paths are much more difficult, so you'll have to put your thinking hat on.
- Grand Prize - Collecting all 27 Keys and Runes will unlock the Grand Prize in the Demons Cave.

How to Get All Runes and Keys in Halloween Spotlight - Full Quests Guide
99 Nights in the Forest Quest
- Rune Quest: Successfully Trick or Treat at one house in the haunted forest.
- Key Quest: Trick or Treat at each of the 5 different houses in the forest.
In order to Trick or Treat in 99 Nights, you first have to get Halloween Candles from Chests, Cultists and Cultist Strongholds. Once you have them, light up a House during the night, then go trick or treating!
The Mimic Quest
- Rune Quest: Venture into the haunted asylum to find and burn the cursed objects and earn your Rune.
- Key Quest: Survive the clown's tag, then win the deadly hide-and-seek against the Ringmaster.
Your goal in the Halloween Event for the Rune is to find and burn three puzzles by unlocking a Safe in multiple locations with multiple hidden keys. While exploring the Asylum, you will be chased around by a Mimic. It can see you as well as spot your light, so be careful when turning on your Candle. If it starts chasing you, run to the main room where you burn the puzzles, as it doesn't like music.
PETAPETA Quest
- Rune Quest: Survive the nightmare and collect 20 hidden pumpkins around the school.
- Key Quest: Escape the school alive after claiming your Rune to earn the Key.
In the first round of the game, make sure you focus on collecting all of the Pumpkins for the Rune. As you'll see, there are many Pumpkins across the map, but not all of them can be picked up. Look for a single small round Pumpkin which is emitting a faint glow. Once you have all 20, start a new round and play the game as you regularly would. If you escape after all three levels, you will get the Key for the Halloween Spotlight event.
Armless Detective Quest
- Rune Quest: Play and win a game in the limited-time Cursed Cathedral map.
- Key Quest: Win a solo Cursed Cathedral game, then Trick Or Treat at 150 houses to earn the Key.
The goal of Armless Detective is to solve the Mystery, which is the case on the Halloween Cursed Cathedral Map as well. You need to find three clues which will help you figure out the suspect. Here are some clues that you need to look out for:
| Clue | What to Do |

| Vengeful Spirits | Shine your Flashlight to the left of the Cathedral door to see if there are any Angry Ghosts floating around. |
| Candy | Look for Candy just before the path to the Shed (should be in the right corner) |
| Targeted Attacks | On the way towards the Puzzle that opens the Cathedral (to the left of the exit gate), check the walls. If you see graffiti hating on |
| Ransacked | Check if the Shed has been emptied or not for clues. The Shed Key is inside the Cathedral to the left |
| Grave Robbery | Unlock the Shed with the key from the Cathedral, then go and pick up the Shovel. Dig up the graves, and if you find missing bones, then you'll know you are dealing with a grave robber. |
| Fake Diamond | Turn all of the mirrors in the Cathedral until they shine on the Diamond. If it turns white or black, that means it's a fake. |
| Hidden Evidence | Use the magnet around bushes and corners to attract a Crown. |
Tower Heroes Quest
- Rune Quest: Defeat the Bramble boss and complete the Doors Outdoors Quest.
- Key Quest: Sneak around Alistair's Manor and escape in one piece.
Epic Minigames Quest
- Rune Quest: Gather all the ingredients and successfully brew Steve's spooky concoction.
- Key Quest: Finish all of Steve's quests and help him invent a new spooky item.
When it comes to completing the Epic Minigames quest, you will need to follow a few steps, but you can also read our in-depth event guide on it to be prepared even more:
- Tal to Steve
- Get a Recipe
- Get all of the Ingredients
- Brew a Conconction
- Talk to three NPCs and complete their quests.
Racket Rivals Quest
- Rune Quest: Talk to the witch NPC and hit the shuttle through the rings to complete her quest.
- Key Quest: Rack up six total wins after unlocking the Rune Tier.
After talking to the Witch NPC, hit the Shuttle through her rings 25 times for the Rune, and after you've completed that, just win six more times.
Funky Friday Quest
- Rune Quest: Play and complete all songs listed for the Rune Tier.
- Key Quest: Perfect Beat! Achieve 80% accuracy or higher on all songs listed for the Key Tier.
While Funky Friday's quest isn't all that difficult, it is time consuming, so be prepared to be in here for a while. For the Rune, you only need to have an accuracy above 25%, but for the Key, you will need to be as perfect as possible, at least 75% or more at all times.
Adopt Me! Quest
- Rune Quest: Earn a total of 4,000 Candy from event minigames.
- Key Quest: Earn at least 3,000 Candy from minigames 3 times.
Adopt Me is pretty simple, all you have to do is play the limited time Halloween event minigames and earn a specific amount of Candy. Just keep playing until you hit both milestones.
Michael's Zombies Quest
- Rune Quest: On Hallow's Eve, find the mysterious pumpkin merchant and trade him a Pack-a-Punch'd weapon.
- Key Quest: Locate hints and solve the riddle to find the safe's code.
To start the quest, go to the Hallow's Eve map of Michael's Zombies. Here, you will have to shoot seven different Pumpkins in order to get the Pack-a-Punch'd Weapon, which you will take back to the start to trade.
World // Zero Quest
- Rune Quest: Find all the hidden pumpkins in the Spooky Courtyard Hunt.
- Key Quest: Defeat the formidable Fallen King Boss in a final battle.
NFL Universe Football Quest
- Rune Quest: In 'Play Now' mode, make 10 blocks on defense to help your team win.
- Key Quest: Head to park and compete to earn 15 points at the tossup fields.
Weird Gun Game Quest
- Rune Quest: Kill 75 Zombies in the Halloween event.
- Key Quest: Survive 20 rounds in the Halloween event.
Restaurant Tycoon 3 Quest
- Rune Quest: Complete 3 of the daily Halloween challenges in a single day.
- Key Quest: Complete 5 of the daily Halloween challenges in a single day.
Just make sure to check out what the Halloween challenges are, and it shouldn't be too difficult to complete if you are keeping track of what you've done.
Build a Zoo Quest
- Rune Quest: Earn at least 20 Candies in the event shop.
- Key Quest: Collect a total of 45 Candies during the Halloween event.
This can be done just by staying in the game a specific amount of time and completing the Build a Zoo Halloween quests.
Doors Quest
- Rune Quest: Knock on 50 different Treaters' doors in the Trick or Treat event.
- Key Quest: Reach room 50 in the Trick or Treat event.
When it comes to doors Runes quest, all you have to do is knock on every door you see until you hit the number 50. You can dedicate an entire run to this, without caring whether you will complete the Key Quest. However, if you want to actually reach Room 50, then you will have to be aware of more Doors event details, which we can help you with.
Blair Quest
- Rune Quest: Find the secret code and step through the portal in the veil.
- Key Quest: Place the shards to complete the ritual and unlock the veil's power to banish the ghost.
For Blair, you will have to explore the map until you find a code, enter the elevator and go upstairs for another section where you will need to locate the Shards.
Banana Eats Quest
- Rune Quest: Collect 13 of Banana's hidden pumpkins.
- Key Quest: Collect 31 of Banana's hidden pumpkins.
Banana Eats is all about hidden locations, so you'll have to be exploring the map while also trying to survive without getting eaten by the banana.
Strongman Ultra
- Rune Quest: Pull lollipops to gain the candy needed to unlock the portal to the Pumpkin Cave.
- Key Quest: Inside the Pumpkin Cave, pull enough pumpkins to build the bridge to the final chest.
All Free Avatar UGC Items
By collecting Runes and Keys, you'll open new areas of the Halloween Spotlight Map, as well as unlock new rewards. Here's everything you can get in the game as of now, since some of the sections are still closed.
Area 1 (Costs 2 Runes):
- Vengeful Visage (Face) - Complete the symbol puzzle
- Reviling Veil - Follow the vanishing item around the area until it stops
Grand Prize (Requires 27 Runes + 27 Keys):
- Ultimate Halloween Item: Located in The Demons cave
Tips for Completing the Event
- Easiest Games: Start with Driving Empire, Build a Zoo, and GEF for quick Runes and Keys.
- Join from Hub: If quests aren't appearing, join games through the Halloween Spotlight hub portals
- Track Progress: Use the Cursed Compass and Codex menu to monitor your Rune and Key collection
- Play Daily: New areas unlock throughout the event period, so check back regularly
- Team Up: Some quests are easier with friends, especially combat-heavy challenges
