The Forest Update for Deadly Delivery added Nora, a new NPC that you can rescue while exploring the depths below on your runs. Rescuing her unlocks a new class that you can use, making this a priority for your progression in the game. To better prepare for your search and so you know where to find her, check out our How to Rescue Nora in Deadly Delivery guide below.
How To Unlock the Escape Artist in Deadly Delivery
Nora is an NPC that can appear anywhere on the level after the fifth floor, with a higher chance of her appearing after the eighth floor. Most of the time, she’ll appear in the Toy Room if it spawns, but you can find her in random rooms around the level as well. It’s unclear if this is a bug or intended.
Make sure to check every room in the level before leaving, in any case. Once you find Nora in the game, interact with her to untie her, and she’ll start following you. You’ll need to escort her back to the elevator and protect her from the monsters that will be attracted to your location. Your best bet is to plan out your escape route in advance and sprint back as fast as you can.
Once Nora reaches the elevator, she’ll drop a cash reward, and you’ll get a message notifying you that the Escape Artist has been unlocked. Be aware that it’s completely random when and if she’ll spawn, so you might find her on your first try, or it might take you 10 runs, for example.
Rewards For Rescuing Nora
Besides the cash you get when she gets on the elevator, you will, more importantly, fulfill the condition needed to unlock the Escape Artist class by talking to the class vendor on the surface. Her perks will give you:
- Level 1 - A 10% stamina regen increase perfect for sprinting.
- Level 2 - A 50% increase to your adrenaline-triggered movement speed at level two, perfect for escaping along with the stamina regen.
- Level 3 - One free revival per round at level three,
She offers great survivability bonuses that will help you escape the level and get to the elevator alive in order to evacuate with your looted floor, especially if you are doing a solo run.
Best Ways to Prepare
While there’s no way to directly increase the chance of Nora spawning on a floor during your run, you can make it more likely by surviving as long as possible and reaching the later floors. We’ve prepared some tips to make it easier for you to achieve that, so check them out below.

- Always play with friends or other people in your lobby if possible. While it’s possible to go far when playing solo, the game is definitely designed with group play in mind, making it a lot easier to fulfill your quota and even get over the goal to have an easier next floor. Additionally, if you do get downed by a monster, your teammates can pick you up with revive syringes.
- Always buy items before you go down the elevator from the vendor in front of them. While you can always use the vending machine to buy items during your run, it has limited stock, and the items are more expensive. You can only take four items with you from the surface, so make sure you bring useful ones like the baseball bat, bandage, revive syringe, and the hourglass, to make things a lot easier on yourself early on.
- Make sure you check every room before you leave the level. Even though she’s supposed to spawn in the Toy room, she might be in places where the other NPCs can spawn. Do be aware that if you find someone else before her, that means she isn’t on that floor, since only one rescue NPC can spawn per floor.
How to Rescue Nora in Deadly Delivery FAQ
After you teleport to the elevator, she will try to follow you, but will not be teleported along with you. Unfortunately, her pathing is not that great, so there’s a good chance that she gets stuck in a wall or attacked by monsters on her way toward you, so I would recommend just escorting her by foot.
While I wouldn’t call her a top-tier choice, it's a very good class for solo runs, primarily because of the free revive you get, making it a lot easier to survive and go deeper.
Sadly, no, your chances of finding her are left to random chance. While she has a pretty high chance of showing up, you could unfortunately get very unlucky and not see her for a while.
