There’s more to One Piece: Mythical than finding Devil Fruits and fighting other players/NPCs. When you don’t feel like fighting, you can relax by catching and cooking some fish to reenergize. This One Piece Mythical fishing guide will tell you how to get your first rod and get to fishing.

How to Get a Fishing Rod in One Piece Mythical

Before you can go fishing in One Piece Mythical, you need to obtain a fishing rod. For that, you have to find and talk to Merlin and complete one of his quests. Follow the steps below to find him and complete the quest:

1. On the Desert Island, spawn near the docks.
2. Buy a boat from the NPC standing at the docks and head left. You’ll soon see an island that’s covered with trees.
3. Go towards the dock of that island and go straight until you see a mini beach at the center of the island.
4. You’ll find Merlin standing near a bunch of crates and barrels. Talk to him and he’ll give you a quest to deliver a crate to a random NPC on the map.
5. Once you’ve picked up the crate, tap on the screen, and a green arrow will appear above the crate for a few seconds that points to the NPC that you have to deliver the crate to.
6. After delivering the crate, you’ll receive some Beri as a reward and get the Wood Rod.

To equip your Wood Rod, go to Talents, click on Utility, and you’ll see the Wood Rod there. Click on the Equip button to add it to your tray.

How to Catch Fish in One Piece Mythical

There is no fancy UI for fishing in One Piece Mythical. If you’re patient and click the buttons at the right time, you’ll never miss a catch. Once you’ve got a fishing rod, follow the steps below to catch your first fish:

1. Equip your fishing rod.
2. Go near a body of water and click on it to cast your line. Your bobber will float around in the water automatically. 
3. Wait until you see bubbles forming around your bobber.
4. Click on the bobber to catch the fish. 

All fish you catch will go straight to your inventory. Tap on the fish to view it. You can sell the raw fish or consume it after cooking to restore your health. If you want to earn 5x money, cook the fish and then sell it. 

Where To Cook Fish in One Piece Mythical

To cook fish in One Piece Mythical, you need to put raw fish on a campfire or a stove. You can find these things in the following locations:

1. On the island covered in trees, behind the Merlin NPC, is a campfire where you can cook fish.
2. On the Crescent Island, there is a kitchen area with a stove where you can cook fish. You’ll also find the Chef NPC in the kitchen, who buys raw and cooked fish.

Keep a few cooked fish in your inventory so you can eat them to restore some health. But, if you want to farm Beri, catch and cook as many fish as you can, and sell them all to the Chef NPC.

How to Unlock Better Rods in One Piece Mythical

The Wood Rod is currently the only obtainable fishing rod in the game. However, two more fishing rods will be added to the game with future updates. Here’s everything you need to know about those rods:

Using better rods reduces the wait time and allows you to catch more fish. Until these rods get added to the game, you can collect the required amount of Beri and catch the required number of fish in preparation.
