Instead of just one, the update adds at least seven new pickaxes on Island 3, with the possibility of additional hidden ones. Every New Pickaxe in The Forge Winter Update

So far, six new purchasable pickaxes have been introduced, all of which can be obtained from Fred the Miner’s shop on the third island. The shop is located right in the centre of the Frostpire Expanse hub zone and is impossible to miss, standing out brightly against the snowy, icy landscape. What Is the Best New Pickaxe in Fred's Island 3 Shop

It goes without saying, but by far the best Fred's Pickaxe is the Void Pickaxe, which costs an absolutely insane amount of Gold. If you are ready to cough up a whopping $1,350,000 for a single pickaxe, you'll get a first Pickaxe in The Forge that deals over 500 damage to a node with every single hit (550, to be precise). And not only that, but it also has the best Luck boost in the game, set at 68% base increase.

Yes, the pickaxe does come with a small mining speed debuff (-5%), but this drawback is negligible when weighed against its many advantages. If you plan on farming the latest late-game ores, purchasing this pickaxe is essentially mandatory. There’s no way around it - brace yourself for a serious grind to earn the $1,350,000 required.

The Forge Secret Prismatic Pickaxe Stats & Price

While the Void Pickaxe may be the best option available in Fred’s shop, it isn’t actually the strongest pickaxe introduced in the Forge Winter Update. That honor belongs to the secret Prismatic Pickaxe, which comes with an eye-watering price tag. Players will need to spend a staggering 2 million Gold to add this prestigious tool to their collection. It is unquestionably the best pickaxe in the game, serving as the ultimate mining tool and the dream of every dedicated master miner.
