In this VV Ultimatum Weapon Tier List, we break down the best weapons for the Quincy, Shinigami, and Hollow races, helping beginners and intermediate players understand which options are worth pursuing and which are best avoided. Whether you want to maximize damage, improve survivability, or build around your favorite playstyle, this VV Ultimatum best weapon guide will help you pick the right one.

QUICK TIP: if you are a new Quincy and just want a safe, strong start, pick the Sword. It has no major weakness and carries you cleanly through early progression and PvP until you unlock your Evolved Spirit Weapon.

How Weapons Work in VV Ultimatum

Not every race in VV Ultimatum shares the same weapons. Your options are tied directly to the race you pick during character creation, and each race has its own weapon progression:

  • Quincy chooses one of 8 Spirit Weapons at character creation, then evolves it into a stronger Evolved Spirit Weapon later.
  • Shinigami wield a Zanpakutō built from three parts and grow it through the Shikai system.
  • Hollow unlock a race-specific weapon only after evolving into their Arrancar (Vastocar) form.

Because of that split, a strong pick for one race has no equivalent in another. Below, we cover each race in turn.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Exact stats are not displayed in-game for most weapons, and the Shinigami and Hollow systems are still being tested by the community. We will keep refining the rankings as more data is confirmed.

VV Ultimatum Quincy Spirit Weapons Tier List

The Quincy race uses Spirit Weapons, and there are currently 8 options you choose from when you create your character. Each has a different range, speed, damage, damage type, and moveset, though these stats are not shown when you pick the weapon during character creation.

This tier list is based on the current in-game descriptions and our early testing, so treat it as a practical, progression-focused ranking rather than a final DPS chart. Sword sits at the top because it is the safest pick with no obvious weakness, while the lower tiers reflect weapons that trade too much damage, speed, or consistency for one narrow advantage.

Spirit Weapon Evaluation
Sword S Tier

Balanced starter weapon with no major weakness.

Recommended Balanced All-rounder

Sword is the safest and most consistent Spirit Weapon for most Quincy players. It does not dominate one specific category, but it also does not force you into awkward matchups the way slower or lower-damage weapons can. That matters a lot while progressing through Lieutenant missions, farming progression EXP, and getting used to Quincy spacing.

  • Best pick if you want a reliable weapon before your Evolved Spirit Weapon.
  • Works well with general Weapon DMG bonuses from clans such as Kurosaki or Richter.
  • Good enough for both PvE progression and early PvP without requiring a very specific playstyle.
Spear A Tier

Extremely high range, but weaker outside of spacing.

Long range Spacing Skill-based

Spear is one of the best weapons if you know how to control distance. Its range gives Quincy players a very natural way to poke, kite, and punish bad approaches, which fits the faction’s ranged identity well. The tradeoff is that it suffers outside of that range advantage, so it can feel worse when enemies force close scrambles.

  • Excellent for players who value reach and safe engagement windows.
  • Pairs nicely with Shunpo Speed or Shunpo Stamina bonuses because movement helps maintain spacing.
  • Less forgiving than Sword if you miss your spacing or get pressured up close.
Longsword A Tier

Similar to Sword, but with more range and less damage.

Safe range Consistent Lower damage

Longsword is basically the safer, lower-damage alternative to Sword. The extra reach makes it easier to start fights on your terms, especially against weapons that need to get closer, but the reduced damage means you need to win more exchanges to get the same result.

  • Great if you want Sword-like comfort with slightly better range control.
  • Benefits from Weapon DMG bonuses because they help offset the lower base damage profile.
  • Not as clean as Sword for general use, but very comfortable for careful players.
Greatsword B Tier

High damage and high range, but very slow.

High damage High range Slow

Greatsword has strong payoff, but the speed makes it harder to recommend over safer options. The damage and range are attractive, especially if you like heavier weapons, but VV Ultimatum fights often reward consistent confirms, movement, and not getting punished during slower swings.

  • Can feel powerful when you land clean hits or punish predictable movement.
  • Better for confident players than beginners because whiffs are easier to punish.
  • Falls behind Sword, Spear, and Longsword for general progression reliability.
Hammer B Tier

Blunt weapon with high damage and slower speed.

Blunt High damage Pressure

Hammer is a solid pressure weapon, but it is not as flexible as the top choices. Its slower speed means you need cleaner timing, but the blunt damage profile and high hit impact can make it useful when you want to force defensive mistakes or punish players who overextend.

  • Good for players who like heavier, punish-focused melee weapons.
  • Can work well with posture-oriented play, especially when the opponent is forced to block or trade.
  • Less comfortable for general Quincy progression than faster or longer-reaching weapons.
Club B Tier

Slow blunt weapon with strong posture pressure.

Posture damage Blunt Slow

Club is useful when you care about posture pressure more than clean DPS. It is described as the blunt counterpart to Greatsword, so its main appeal is forcing posture damage and making opponents respect your hits. The issue is the same as with most heavy weapons: if you cannot land those hits, the weapon quickly feels clunky.

  • Best for players who enjoy breaking posture and punishing defensive opponents.
  • Can be annoying to fight when used patiently, but it is not the smoothest leveling weapon.
  • More niche than Sword or Spear, but not weak if you play around its posture threat.
Rifle C Tier

Good range, but below-average damage.

Range Low damage Niche

Rifle sounds good on paper because Quincy already leans into ranged pressure, but the lower damage hurts its value. Range is useful, especially while learning matchups, but if a weapon struggles to convert that range into meaningful pressure, it can feel like you are giving opponents too many chances to recover or close the gap.

  • Comfortable if you want to play cautiously and avoid close-range trades.
  • Needs good positioning and possibly damage support to feel worthwhile.
  • Hard to rank higher until more evolved weapon data or exact damage values are available.
Rapier C Tier

Fast-ish weapon with decent range, but low damage.

Speed Decent range Low damage

Rapier has the right idea, but the low damage makes it difficult to justify over Sword or Longsword. It should feel better for players who like quick pokes and lighter weapons, but in practice, you need to land more hits while still managing range, posture, and enemy pressure.

  • Playable if you prefer speed and careful poking over heavy confirms.
  • May improve with specific builds, but it is not the best general recommendation.
  • Outclassed by Sword for balance and by Longsword or Spear for safer reach.

For beginners, Sword is the safest choice because it has no major weaknesses and performs well across most situations. Spear is all about reach, Greatsword trades speed for heavy damage and range, and Longsword plays like a Sword that leans into range over damage. Rapier is a quicker, lighter option with solid reach but lower damage, Hammer is a slow blunt weapon that hits hard, Rifle gives reliable range with below-average damage, and Club is the blunt, posture-focused counterpart to the Greatsword.

How to Evolve Your Quincy Spirit Weapon

Spirit Weapons can eventually be upgraded into a stronger version called the Evolved Spirit Weapon. To do this, you need to obtain the Sanrei Glove and unlock the ability to meditate. From there, you meditate and complete additional missions until you reach Max Reiatsu, at which point the evolution becomes available. This is why Sword is such a strong early pick: it carries you comfortably until your Evolved Spirit Weapon comes online.

Shinigami Weapons Tier List - Best Zanpakutō Build

If you are a Bleach fan, you already know Shinigami do not use ordinary weapons. They wield the iconic Zanpakutō, and VV Ultimatum reflects this with a dedicated system. Instead of picking from fixed weapon classes, Shinigami build and grow a single signature blade.

Your Zanpakutō is assembled from three parts:

  • Handle
  • Guard
  • Hilt

RELATED: VV Ultimatum Clans Tier List – Best Quincy, Hollow & Shinigami Clan

These parts range from simple stat bonuses to passives that change how you play, so a Shinigami's best weapon depends on the combination you put together rather than a single fixed pick. The blade itself appears as one of a few base forms. The currently known Zanpakutō weapon types are:

  • Greatsword: a heavy form built around serious damage and reach.
  • Greataxe: another heavy form with wide, hard-hitting swings.
  • Katana: a faster, more balanced blade that leans on clean, consistent strikes.

Shinigami weapon progression is tied to the Shikai system. You unlock stronger stages of your Zanpakutō by meditating and accumulating Shikai EXP, so your power grows alongside your character rather than from swapping weapons. Because the strength of a Shinigami blade comes mostly from its parts and Shikai stage, we are holding off on a strict S, A, B ranking until exact stats and part effects are confirmed. We will update this section with a full parts breakdown as testing continues.

Hollow Weapons Tier List

Hollow players do not get a weapon right away. Your race-specific Hollow weapon unlocks only after you complete the Hollow progression and evolve into a Vastocar, which transforms you into an Arrancar. Because of that gate, your weapon is an endgame reward rather than an early choice, which is one more reason to push your progression all the way to Vasto Lorde before evolving.

There are currently 7 known Hollow weapons:

  • Spear: reach-focused weapon for poking and spacing.
  • Lance: another long-reach option, divisive among players but a comfortable middle pick.
  • Hammer: a blunt, high-impact weapon suited to pressure and posture damage.
  • Great Axe: a heavy, hard-hitting weapon that trades speed for raw power.
  • Greatsword: a large blade built around high damage and range.
  • Katana: a faster, balanced blade for players who prefer consistency over big single hits.
  • Minigun: the standout option, a ranged weapon that puts out sustained fire from a distance.

NOTE: The weapon descriptions above are archetype-based early impressions, not confirmed in-game stat readouts. Keep them framed as such, or trim to a plain list, until you have hands-on numbers.

Exact damage values, movesets, and a final ranking for Hollow weapons are still being confirmed, so we are listing all available options here and will rank them as soon as reliable stats are available. If you are building toward this, prioritize reaching Arrancar form first, since none of these weapons are accessible before then.
