Fabric is an important resource as it is used for many different crafts in The Planet Crafter. If you're playing Planet Crafter and looking to get your hands on some Fabric, I've just the guide for you.
Where to get Fabric in The Planet Crafter
While Fabric is not a resource you need to progress your Terraforming efforts, it is valuable for other useful stuff within your base. As such, getting your hands on Fabric is still pretty important, especially early on. The resource is not found in any specific location. Instead, it is mostly found by looting random shipwrecks and abandoned buildings scattered around the planet. You can also occasionally find some in storage crates.
Due to there only being so many shipwrecks and structures, you should assume that Fabric is finite, meaning you don't want to waste it on non-essential crafts like decorations, at least not early on. Instead, I highly recommend you use it to build yourself a Water Filter and Air Filter, as these two pieces of equipment drastically improve your survivability when exploring beyond the confines of your base. Both water and air are scarce in The Planet Crafter's early game, so you need to ensure both these meters never get close to empty.

How to get infinite Fabric in The Planet Crafter
Fabric is a limited resource in The Planet Crafter's early game, but this limitation can be overcome by progressing your Terraforming stage. Specifically, when you begin to see Insects on the planet, you'll be able to craft Silk which can be broken down and allow you to make Fabric, indefinitely. This is rather late into the Terraforming process, so beware of wasting any Fabric you obtain up to this point.
When you have insects swarming your planet, look outside for Silkworms. They are a particularly important part of the process of making Fabric. If you've been storing insects, you may already have some alive and well in your base. If you don't, create them in your Genetic Sequences facility. Next, use a Silk Generator to create Silk. Take the silk you made to your Biolab. From here, you'll be able to craft Fabric at any time you desire. Gone are the days of salvaging wreckage for it.
