Start off with a strong deck!

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel was released on Jan. 18, 2022, bringing veterans, newcomers, and returning players back into the Yu-Gi-Oh! fold. Upon starting the game, players are asked to select a starter deck from three choices. This may leave fans wondering which is the best starter deck pick.

The best stater deck pick for Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is the Synchro of Unity deck. While none of the starter decks will take you far in ranked, this deck gives you three of the Mystical Space Typhoon card. Below we will break down the three starter decks.

Power of Dragon

This is the deck that will be most familiar to classic players and fans of the anime. It focuses on the legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon card and high attack monster cards. In addition, it throws in other powerful dragon cards as well as fusion cards. This is a good deck to learn the basics of the game as it plays fairly straightforward.

Synchro of Unity

This deck is a little more advanced than the Power of Dragon deck and focuses on new mechanics that classic players may not be familiar with. It focuses on being able to quickly special summon monsters, both regular and Tuner, to utilize the Synchro Summon ability. This deck is good at overwhelming your opponent.

This deck is the most up-to-date with Yu-Gi-Oh!'s mechanics and can be very confusing for new players or those who have only seen the anime. It utilizes Link Monsters which have link markers and requirements. Players can send face-up monsters to the Graveyard to special summon these Link Monsters from their Extra Deck.
