We all knew Yu-Gi-Oh! was a big franchise. In fact, it's one of the best-selling trading card games in the world—but who would have guessed how successful the game could be on Steam? Data from SteamDB has revealed that Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is one of the most played video games on service, peaking over 240,000 concurrent players.
That makes Master Duel the fourth most played game on Steam at the moment, beating out other popular games like Rust, Grand Theft Auto V, and Team Fortress 2. Currently, Counter-Strike is the most played game on Steam, with nearly 1 million concurrent players during its peak today.

Master Duel has also enjoyed a healthy amount of viewership on Twitch. The game peaked at over 105,000 viewers on Jan. 20, and it currently has around 35,000 to 40,000 concurrent viewers. These numbers are extra impressive when considering that Master Duel's online service only went live on Jan. 19.
The game is effectively just a digital version of the classic Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game, and it features around over 10,000 cards. The game has proven to be popular with both longtime players and those who are feeling nostalgic for old-school Yu-Gi-Oh! anime and cards. The game also has an elaborate single-player mode for gamers who simply like playing by themselves.
