Indicative of its name, the Traveling Merchant is a unique NPC in Rogueblox that can spawn at specific times on the map, providing rare and handy items to progress in the game. Along with that, there is also a secret quest with the Traveling Merchant that enables you to get some Mementos for free. So, if you are unaware of the Traveling Merchant timings or any spawn locations, here is a detailed guide on it.
Where does the Traveling Merchant Spawn in Rogueblox?
The Traveling Merchant can spawn at any random location on the map. These locations are not fixed but vary from server to server. However, I have personally found that the Merchant spawns in most instances at the places listed below.
- On the Bridge connecting the Metssilvan Barrens and the Mawstone Trading Village.
- Below the Ritherhelm and the Whispering Woods Connecting point on the northern side of the forest near the entrance to the Frostfalls area.
- Near a Cave inside the Cavion Town inside the Whispering Woods.
Once spawned, you easily identify one by its large wooden wagon with an NPC and a cat inside.
What are the items sold by the Traveling Merchant?
The items sold by the Traveling Merchant are random and vary from time to time. So, don't expect that a Traveling Merchant will definitely sell an Obsidian Skull each time you meet one. During my gameplay time, I found the Traveling Merchant selling the following items.
- Saw Shark
- Demonite Dagger
- Cloud in A Bottle
Irrespective of the items sold, always pick ones that suit your class and race types.
How to get free Mementos from the Traveling Merchant
There is also a secret quest associated with the Traveling Merchant that provides you with 0.3 Momentos. To obtain this, use the Pet Option on the Cat sitting next to the Traveling Merchant. Keep doing this for a total of 10 times in a row to spawn the Mephistopheles, 2nd Duke of Crimson, inside the sleeping room.
Use the ladder at the center of the wagon and climb to reach the sleeping room, where you can find the Mephistopheles NPC sitting on a bed and eating a watermelon. Speak with the character to get the free 0.3 Mementos.
