The Cave can be found as early as Day 1 and always spawns somewhere east of your campfire, though its exact position changes every run. On the map, it appears as a large cave icon marked with a yellow exclamation point, clearly indicating the main entrance.

This main cave is the only entry point that leads directly into the expanded underground network. As you progress deeper, you will encounter newly added mineshafts, dungeon gates, and branching paths. Once you fully clear the part 2 expansion and exit the cave, you cannot re-enter, so you need to make sure you are thoroughly prepared before your attempt.

How to Get & Use Dynamite

In the newly revamped Cave, Dynamites are one of the key progression items that have been added. You primarily get it from Chests and Golden Chests found deeper inside the cave. These chests frequently appear behind iron gates and within mineshafts guarded by elite cultists.

To use Dynamite, place it near an iron gate or blocked mineshaft entrance and move away before detonation. The explosion destroys the gate, opening access to deeper regions. Dynamite is limited, so wasting it on unnecessary targets can lock you out of later areas.

How to Get & Use Impact Grenade

Impact Grenades are another explosive option added in this update. Unlike Dynamite, these are thrown or fired using explosive ammo, allowing you to break gates from a safer distance. You can find Impact Grenades in high-tier chests alongside rifles, torchlights, and additional explosives.

When used correctly, Impact Grenades let you destroy iron gates without standing directly next to them, which is extremely useful in rooms packed with Cultist Executioners. Because explosive ammo is also limited, it is best saved for dangerous situations or areas.

Clearing Caves Part 2 can be quite difficult if you don't know how to progress. The Bat entity remains present at all times, but you can avoid its attacks by hiding behind structures rather than outrunning it.

As you descend, you will find new mineshafts blocked by iron gates. These areas are heavily infested with high-tier Cultists, including the new Cultist Executioners. These enemies are extremely tanky, wield massive axes, and can kill you in just a few hits. Fighting them at range is safest, though powerful close-range builds like the Vampire class with the Vampire Scythe can handle them if played carefully.

Even deeper, you will find dungeon-like gates that only unlock after clearing entire enemy waves. These rooms contain statues that grant Blessings, which provide passive buffs for the rest of your run. The final area is the hardest, featuring three to four consecutive waves of Cultist Executioners.

After surviving this section, you can activate the last Blessing statue and reach a blocked passage marked with wooden planks, which cannot yet be opened and is likely reserved for Part 3. From there, you climb the nearby stairs to exit the cave permanently.

Cave Part 2 Update Rewards

The Part 2 expansion significantly improves cave loot quality. Deeper areas reward players with Stone Chests and Golden Chests that frequently contain Dynamite, Impact Grenades, rifles, strong axes, torchlights, and other high-tier survival equipment.

You also gain access to additional Blessings through new statue chambers. There are eight total Blessings that you can get in the Cave. Each statue room has two choices, but only one can be selected. Completing the cave does not grant a single end chest, but the cumulative loot and Blessings make it one of the most rewarding things to explore.
