The best Anime Expeditions DPS and support units in the release meta.

Wondering which Anime Expeditions units are the best in the release meta? When it comes to production value and visual presentation, Anime Expeditions, the latest Roblox anime tower defense game, is unmatched. But what about the gameplay? Check out my Anime Expeditions Tier List to learn about the current meta, then decide whether the game is right for you.
When it comes to the best units in Anime Expeditions’ release meta, rankings mostly come down to how much value each unit provides on its own. There are still relatively few units that truly matter right now, and we are, of course, mainly talking about Mythic and Secret units.
There are some synergies already, but not nearly as many as there will be once the game expands further. For now, each unit in my Anime Expeditions Tier List should be evaluated based on several key factors:
Stats – Core unit stats such as Damage, Attack Speed, Range, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, and more.
Status Effects – Many units apply status effects with their attacks, such as Burn, Freeze, Slow, and Bleed. These can help you clear waves faster, stall enemies, and control the battlefield more effectively.
Attack Type – There are currently three damage types in the game: Physical, Magical, and Psychic.
Element – Most units have an Element, such as Storm, Flame, Gale, Hydro, Dark, Neutral, Terra, Light, and more.
Passives – Most units in the upper tiers of our Anime Expeditions Tier List have several powerful passive abilities that can make all the difference in the right team comp.
S
Anime Expeditions S Tier Units
The S Tier contains the best Anime Expeditions units in the release meta. These characters either deliver exceptional damage on their own or provide team-wide buffs, crowd control, summons, and economy bonuses that remain valuable throughout difficult stages.
Anime Expeditions S Tier unit rankings, attributes, status effects, and evaluations
Unit
Evaluation
Shadow (Divine)
SecretDPSDarkMagicalNo standard status
One of the best overall units thanks to a combination of high personal damage, summons, and team utility.
Shadow Realm transforms the map and grants a 25% damage buff to all Magical units, making Shadow the centerpiece of Magical teams.
Divine Spirit and Winged Spirit generate additional minions, giving Shadow excellent sustained damage during long waves.
Its team buff is most valuable when the rest of your lineup contains several strong Magical attackers.
Puppet (Telekinetic)
MythicDPSLightPsychicPuppet Mark
Automatically applies Puppet Mark to the strongest enemy within range, helping the team focus dangerous elites and bosses.
Its doll summon adds another source of damage beyond Puppet's regular attacks.
Light and Psychic coverage makes Puppet useful when enemies resist more common Physical or Magical damage setups.
It offers less general wave clear than the top Secret carries, but its priority-target pressure earns it an S Tier position.
8th Sword (Berserk)
SecretDPSNeutralPhysicalNo standard status
Elite late-game DPS that becomes increasingly powerful after it has enough time to build takedowns.
Enemies within range continuously take damage equal to a percentage of the unit's current damage, adding reliable passive DPS.
After 25 takedowns, Berserk mode improves its Damage, Attack Speed, and Range.
Its main limitation is the ramp-up requirement, so place it early enough to secure kills before the hardest waves begin.
Crimson (Brother)
ExclusiveDPSDarkMagicalCrimson Mark
Marks regular enemies and causes them to explode after five seconds, making Crimson excellent against packed waves.
Each explosion leaves a damaging Crimson pool behind, adding useful lingering path damage.
Piercing Crimson attacks further improve its performance on straight paths and against tightly grouped enemies.
The mark passive specifically targets regular enemies, so Crimson is generally stronger for wave clear than pure boss damage.
Cursed Student (True Love)
MythicDPSDarkPhysicalBleed
Performs an additional, stronger follow-up attack after every three regular attacks, giving it excellent sustained DPS.
Every 20 accumulated Bleed stacks summons a bat spirit that contributes additional damage.
Its value rises considerably in teams that can apply Bleed quickly and consistently.
One of the strongest Mythic carries, particularly in longer fights where its follow-ups and summons have time to activate repeatedly.
Flame Emperor (Reincarnate)
MythicDPSFlameMagicalBurn
Applies Burn to enemies in range and can spread it to the three nearest targets, producing excellent multi-target pressure.
Its wall of fire damages every enemy that passes through it, making correct placement especially rewarding.
One of the best release-meta units for clearing crowded waves and supporting Burn-based team compositions.
It is slightly less specialized for isolated bosses, but its overall map coverage easily keeps it in S Tier.
Ramen Guy
LegendaryFarmNo ElementPhysicalNo status
Increases Yen earned from kills by 50%, allowing you to afford expensive upgrades significantly earlier.
It's the best farm unit of the two currently in the game. That automatically makes it S Tier.
Toy Maker
ExclusiveSupportDarkPsychicToy Summons
Summons toys directly onto enemy paths, adding extra bodies that can block enemies and contribute damage.
Different toys can gain speed, perform AoE attacks, and provide several forms of lane pressure.
Its Dark Psychic combination gives teams valuable damage coverage without taking another traditional DPS slot.
Toy Maker is less straightforward than a pure carry, but its summons and battlefield control are powerful in difficult waves.
Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1)
MythicSupportGaleMagicalSlow / Stagger
Applies Slow with its attacks, consistently increasing the amount of time enemies spend inside your DPS units' ranges.
Performs a stagger attack when enemies enter its range, providing an additional layer of crowd control.
Especially valuable against fast enemies and dangerous late-wave groups that would otherwise overwhelm your defenses.
Its personal damage is not the main attraction, but the extra attack time it creates for the entire team makes it S Tier support.
A
Anime Expeditions A Tier Units
A Tier Anime Expeditions units are strong enough for most endgame teams, but they are either more composition-dependent or slightly less ridiculous than the top meta picks. Several of them become S Tier-level performers when paired with the right damage type or status effect.

Unit
Evaluation
String Demon (Awakened)
MythicDPSNeutralMagicalStun
Every sixth regular attack traps enemies in a cocoon, stunning them before dealing another 100% of the original damage when it breaks.
The extra string follow-up attacks keep its DPS respectable. It will not solo your entire run, but damage plus reliable crowd control is hardly a bad deal.
Reaper (Released)
MythicDPSLightPhysicalSelf-Buffs
Builds permanent Damage and Critical Chance buffs by attacking, so an early Reaper becomes considerably nastier as the stage continues.
Can temporarily reduce its SPA by 5% and use Mirage Step to relocate. Great flexibility, although dropping it late wastes much of its scaling gimmick.
Lady Giant (Envy)
MythicDPSTerraPhysicalTransformation
Four Rock Chunks trigger a follow-up attack dealing 100%–125% damage, giving her frequent bursts rather than just pretty basic attacks.
Her giant transformation improves Damage, SPA, and Range. She brings a lot of raw stats, but not much help for anyone else on the team.
Hollow (Blaze)
MythicDPSFlameMagicalBurn Synergy
Deals increased damage to burning enemies and gets another payoff when a burning target stops inside its range.
Pair it with Flame Emperor or another consistent Burn applicator and Hollow looks fantastic. Run it without Burn and you are voluntarily ignoring most of the unit's passive.
Forbidden Teacher
LegendarySupportNo ElementMagicalDamage Buff
Buffs the damage of all Magical units within range, with the bonus increasing by another 5% with each upgrade.
An easy inclusion in Magical teams, especially when several carries can fit inside the buff radius. Obviously, your Physical units could not care less.
The Hero
LegendarySupportNo ElementPhysicalDamage Buff
The Physical counterpart to Forbidden Teacher, buffing Physical units within range and gaining another 5% buff strength per upgrade.
Excellent when clustered around several Physical carries. He is not here to top the damage chart; he is here to make everyone else do it.
True Saint (Holy)
ExclusiveSupportLightMagicalTrue Saint Mark
Applies True Saint Mark, adding an extra 10% damage effect against marked targets with very little setup required.
Reliable and beginner-friendly, but not quite as team-defining as the best S Tier supports. Sometimes dependable is enough.
Elf Mage (Unleashed)
MythicDPSWindMagicalArcane Charges
Regular attacks generate Arcane Charges, which eventually reset and empower its Arcane Spell follow-up attacks.
Strong AoE with dependable scaling during longer waves. It takes a little time to get going, but once the spells start cycling, Elf Mage does plenty of work.
So there you have it, that's the reasoning behind my S and A tiers in Anime Expeditions Tier List. There's no point going through the remaining tiers as those units either don't have any passives or are simply not meta-relevant enough for me to take enough time to write about them, to be honest.
For now, that’s all I have to say about the best units in Anime Expeditions for the release meta. Thanks for reading, and if you enjoyed my analysis, feel free to check out some of the other pieces I’ve written in our Roblox guides section.
