How to Catch Bing Bong in How to Fish
To catch the Bing Bong secret fish in How to Fish, you need to reach the Desert (Island 3). The Bing Bong is a secret fish that can’t be caught on any other island. After that, you need to use the Coconut Lure with the Fishing Rod. When you use the Coconut Lure, there’s a 100% chance to catch the Bing Bong fish.
The Fishing Rod is obtainable from every island after Lighthouse (Island 1) for $3. So, the only thing left to obtain is the Coconut Lure. Here’s how to get that:
How to Get the Coconut Lure in How to Fish

The Coconut Lure does not appear in any of the shops on any island of How to Fish. Instead, you can only get the Coconut Lure by purchasing it directly from a specific tree on Desert (Island 3) for $350.
There are multiple trees on the Desert (Island 3) that have coconuts on them. However, you can only purchase the coconuts from the tree that is right in the centre of the island. The image below shows exactly which tree you have to use to get the Coconut Lure.

One Coconut can only be used once, so make sure you prepare yourself before reeling it in.
How to Defeat Bing Bong in How to Fish
The Bing Bong fish behaves like the Sea Urchin but on steroids. It has similar movements and deals similar damage per hit, but has a much longer escape time and higher HP. So, the only way to defeat the Bing Bong is to:
- Use a maxed-out SMG
- Use the trees to block/reduce the Bing Bong’s movement
If you’re playing co-op, the fight becomes a bit easier. One player can engage the Bing Bong while the other uses the SMG (or any other ranged weapon) to deal constant damage. You’ll definitely need good aim to keep up with the quick and random movements of the Bing Bong fish.
