Each runs on its own schedule and rewards completely different animals, so understanding how they interact is a must. The Rift event is a newly added recurring server-wide boss encounter that opens every 30 minutes across the map. When a Rift spawns, all players on the server can enter it, fight the Overlord, and earn Boss Tokens on a successful kill.

This event is the primary way to earn Boss Tokens for the Boss Shop and progress the Boss Mastery track. Separately from the boss encounter, you can also find a permanent Rift Machine sits in the lobby and accepts animal sacrifices in exchange for Rift Eggs.

If you want to complete a Rift Event in Steal An Egg, here's all the steps you need to follow:

Step 1: Wait for a Rift to Open

The Rifts spawn every 30 minutes across the map. You can watch for the notification and head to the Rift location (generally in the Titan temple Biome) when one appears.

Step 2: Enter the Rift

Walk into the Rift portal to enter the boss arena. Multiple players can enter the same Rift simultaneously, which makes the fight significantly easier.

Step 3: Defeat the Overlord

Fight and defeat the Abyss Overlord inside. The Overlord is the main combat challenge of the event. To beat this boss, you need to first shatter all the Crystals surrounding the Boss and then when the Boss enters phase 2, you need to destroy its Arms which fall momentarily to beat this boss.

Upon successfully defeating the Overlord you will get 1,200 to 1,500 Boss Tokens per kill. These go directly into your inventory and can be spent in the Boss Shop immediately after the fight.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How often does the Rift event happen in Steal An Egg?

Rifts open every 30 minutes across the map. Each opening is a server-wide event visible to all players, so you have multiple opportunities per hour to earn Boss Tokens if you stay active during Rift windows.

Which Rift Egg should you aim for in Steal An Egg?

The Shattered Rift Egg is the most valuable by peak earning potential. It also contains the only Divine rarity pet in the Rift system, Shattered Colossus at 3.5 billion per second. However, at 20% from the Rift Machine, you will receive it less often than the Riftborn or Riftbeasts Egg.

What is the best use of Boss Tokens in Steal An Egg?

The 10% Mutation Consumable at 400 tokens is the highest-value purchase if you want to apply the Fractured Mutation, since it is otherwise only obtainable through the Boss Mastery grind. If you are actively treadmill farming or need cash income, the 2x Treadmill Booster at 200 tokens and the 2x Cash Booster at 175 tokens are the more practical options.
