Crab Games has become somewhat of a sleeper hit, just like the Netflix TV show that "inspired" the game. With this unexpected popularity, creator Dani has made a post on Steam that goes into detail about everything that's coming to Crab Games with its first content update. The update includes better security with networking, new maps, new game modes, and bug fixes.
The update will switch the game's old Steam Networking with a new one. Players' IP will be masked, which will hopefully mean that IP can't be leaked anymore. However, Dani does state there can still be issues with this new networking.
Two new game modes are included—Race and Bustling Button. Race mode has players make it to the goal before others, while Bustling Button is simply described as being RNG.

There will be nine new maps—Sussy Sandcastle, Lava Climb, Macaroni Mountain, Saucy Stage, Return to Monke, Bitter Beach, Karlson, Mini Beach, and Mini Monke. The first three listed— Sussy Sandcastle, Lava Climb, and Macaroni Mountain—will only be for the new Race mode. Saucy Stage will only be for the Bustling Buttons mode.
Players can also now change the drop key in the settings, and they can filter servers with the new server browser settings. Dani also promises to get the game working for the Mac and Linux.
