Tommy Vercetti is the main character in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - Definitive Edition. This is a remaster of the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and while Rockstar Games has given the game a graphical overhaul, the game mostly plays like the original. Tommy can be a little hard to control, and some of his controls can be confusing or new.
One such movement is crouching. This is a good technique to use when in firefights, as Tommy can duck behind cover when being shot at. You can alternate between shooting and crouching to reduce the damage you take. Here are the controls for crouching in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - Definitive Edition.

Once Tommy is crouching, he will be unable to move. You can still move your camera, and Tommy will follow. You can also fire guns while crouched, which may make your aim more accurate. To uncrouch, simply press the corresponding button you used to crouch in the first place. Use this to maximum effect in shot outs!
