How to make Steel in Icarus

It's a lot of work but well worth it.

Few materials are as important as steel in Icarus. This valuable resource is used to craft weapons and tools that will become vital to your survival, especially in the late game. But you cannot simply find steel, but rather you will have to make it. You might be wondering how to make steel in Icarus.

To make steel in Icarus, you will have to go through a few steps and craft some tools. You will need to level up and unlock these blueprints in your tech tree. Here are the required elements to make steel in Icarus.

  • Reach level 10 and unlock Tier 2 in the Tech Tree.
  • Unlock the blueprint for the Mortar and Pestle (Requires 4 Silica and 12 Stone).
  • Unlock the blueprint for Steel Bloom (Require level 20, 6 Iron Ore, and 1 Coal Ore.
  • Craft a Stone Furnace (Requires 4 Sticks, 12 Wood, 80 Stone, and 12 Leather).
  • Deposit your Steel Bloom into the Stone Furnace to make Steel Ingots.

With all of these elements, you can successfully make steel. As there are some level requirements, this won't be possible early on, so you will have to wait until you reach level 20. You should gather all of the necessary materials ahead of time.

With the proper materials and equipment, you can make steel ingots. Craft your steel bloom using the mortar and pestle. Once you have that, head to the stone furnace and place it there to turn it into steel ingots. You can turn these ingots into steel weapons and tools.
