How to polish items and all polishing effects in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

How to polish items

You first must unlock polishing by completing four vacation homes. Once done, you will have the ability to equip your polishing rag once inside your home by pressing zl and can use it to make the furniture in your home shine.

Simply press and hold the A button to begin polishing items. If you want to remove the sheen, you can press the Y button.

There are 14 standard polishing effects that you can choose from after you complete twelve homes. You can choose from any of the designs when in polishing mode by pressing +. If you don't like the designs, then choose the design you like least and press x to replace it with a custom design.

You can download polishing effects from other players or upload your own unique design. In addition, you can apply different polishing effects to the items in your room to give all of your objects an animated look.
