How to grow pumpkins in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Time to get spooky!

The Halloween update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is upon us. There are a whole bunch of new things that have been added, resulting in tons of spooky fun that will be had by all! While you are dressing up in your new costumes and using available Nook Miles, you can also get started on a new garden that will feature some large orange gourds.

How to grow pumpkins in ACNH

To plant pumpkins in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, take the pumpkin start seeds from your inventory and plant them in the desired spot on the ground. Make sure they're in an area you'll remember, as you'll need to come back and water them every day. In about four days (if you've watered them all days or had rain), you will have a harvestable pumpkin.

Pumpkins grow into four different colors: orange, green, yellow, and white. The color is random, so you'll have to wait and see what you get when it grows. These gourds are then used in some fun festive recipes that will get you some spooky new items to put around your house!

Where do you get Pumpkins in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

To get pumpkins in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you will need to either head to Nook's Cranny or talk to Leif in the month of October. For Nook's Cranny, just head to the seed area and in the miscellaneous section and buy the pumpkin start for 250 bells. If Leif is at your plaza, you can talk to him and he should have the pumpkin start available for 140 bells each!

Leif is obviously the better option because he sells them for much cheaper. However, Leif is not always available on the island. If you have unlocked Leif on Harv's Island, you can just head over there to get some from him. For those who haven't unlocked his shop there, you'll have to wait and try to catch him in the plaza between 5am and 10pm on any random day.
