How do the floating flower buds (Bloatty Floatty) work in Genshin Impact?

Pop the balloons—Teyvat style.

If there's anything that baffles many new Travelers, it's the Bloatty Floatties—or the floating balloon-like flowers that mainly appear around Liyue. The green plants come with three buds that grow in size and float away from their stems whenever players interact with them.

Bloatty Floatties follow a simple mechanic. Once you spot one, interact with it, and its three buds will separately float within the area. Switch to a bow character and aim at the floating buds to pop them. After all three are popped, a Chest will spawn!

If you forget to pop the buds, they usually stay in the air, waiting for you to pop them. So if you've been ignoring them for a while, try looking upward as you explore to catch them floating around.

Most Bloatty Floatties are located in Liyue—but don't forget to stop by Monstadt to pop a couple of them too. These floating buds count toward Exploration progress, so consider referencing the map above to find out if you've missed any.
