How to unlock the shortcut in The Club in Sifu?

Take door number two.

Sifu's second level, The Club, ratchets up the difficulty compared to the first level and stops pulling any of its punches. By the time you encounter the boss of the level, Sean The Fighter, you've likely been through hell and aged a bunch on the way. Thankfully (mercifully), Sifu employs level shortcuts that you can unlock after reaching a certain point in the stage, which is exceptionally helpful due to the game's death and aging mechanic.

To find the shortcut in The Club, progress until you reach a cutscene where a fighter is wrapping his hands. After the cutscene plays out, you will fight this guy one-on-one, and by no means is it an easy battle.

This level wants so much for you to acclimate to the game's dodging mechanics—just parrying this fighter won't be enough. You'll have to use the dodge mechanic to avoid his flurry of attacks and then deliver punishment of your own.

Once you defeat him, you'll receive the Disciple's Pass that will unlock the shortcut of the level. Next time you begin The Club and clear out the first dance floor area, you can use the Pass on the double doors to the right, allowing you to skip a substantial chunk of the level.
