Kirby: The Forgotten Land is a quirky addition to the Kirby series and contains many innovative gameplay changes. One of these is Mouthful Mode, a mode that finally shows that Kirby may not be the black hole we all assumed he was. Using this newfound power, Kirby has more moves at his disposal than before.
Mouthful Mode gives Kirby the ability to inhale large objects like cars and vending machines. These objects won't fuse with Kirby like normal, but instead, he will wrap around them like a snug book cover. After he's covered the item, he can use their abilities like normal, just without wearing cute accessories.

Some examples of Mouthful Mode are:
- Kirby being able to merge with a car to quickly drive around the map.
- Kirby combining with a vending machine and weaponizing snacks.
- Kirby waterlogging himself, and then using the water as he pleases.
These unusual powers allow for a new level of gameplay to be introduced into the games without changing how Kirby plays.
