How to shorten animations in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin

Soul Burst out of that animation.

A crucial facet of combat in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is your Soul Burst ability, which is a one-hit kill on most enemies after you break their stagger bar. You're going to be using Soul Burst a lot during this game, and with each enemy comes a custom and seemingly unskippable Soul Burst animation.

At first, it's pretty cool to watch your character shatter enemies into a thousand bloody shards, but after a few missions of doing it over and over, it gets a bit grating. Fortunately, there is an option to shorten your Soul Burst animations. From any in-game menu:

  1. Enter System Settings tab
  2. Enter Basic Settings tab
  3. Toggle Short Soul Burst Animation to ON.

This option will not only shorten your Soul Burst Animation, but it will also give you control of the camera during the animation in order to plan your next move—something that isn't possible with the default animation settings.
