The helpful hints.

There are rumors whenever you can't figure out how to do anything in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Rumors are essentially the way you find out how to complete each mission and task.

How to unlock Rumors in Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga

Whenever you come across anything you haven't completed or unlocked, the BUY RUMOR option appears. Rumors cost 30,000 Lego Studs each and will show the completion conditions. These descriptions are basically hints, but they aren't very helpful. You can also unlock rumors by talking to random NPCs.

A hint will normally be the description you're given when you complete each challenge. These can range from Defeat a Stormtrooper with their own weapon. to Flush Stormtroopers out into space—With the latter not being very helpful.

If you haven't progressed far enough to unlock the mission itself, the game will only tell you to keep playing to unlock it.

When should I buy Rumors?

It is always better to buy a rumor for Challenges and Side Missions because you can complete many Level Challenges by just playing Freeplay in the levels. Once you have at least one character in each class, you can easily do most of the Freeplay stuff.

Rumors can only be used to complete the missions in the game and cannot be used to find out how to unlock certain characters, starships, or ships. You need to play through the game if you want to unlock characters.
