How to unlock Cover Athletes in MLB: The Show 22

Unlock The Show cover athletes!

MLB: The Show 22 brings back the beloved Diamond Dynasty mode that allows you to create the team of your dreams to take on past and present stars in the MLB. This year, a collection of Diamond Dynasty cards are none other than 12 of the previous MLB: The Show cover athletes.

You can unlock The Show cover athletes dating back to MLB: The Show '08 to use in Diamond Dynasty, but getting them is a little troublesome. As of now, the only way to guarantee to unlock cover athletes in MLB: The Show 22 is to open a Cover Athletes pack, which is only given by purchasing the Deluxe or MVP Editions of MLB: the Show 22.

You can also unlock cover athletes by opening Legends and Flashback packs, but the chances are pretty low. You can also purchase cover athletes in the Marketplace, but each card is roughly worth around 15,000-30,000 Stubs.

Unlocking all 12 of the cover athletes will reward you with a 96 OVR Joe Mauer card, one of the best catchers in the game. Each cover athlete is an 88 OVR and has individual standout stats, so they can make a great addition to any lineup. MLB: The Show 22 updates the Diamond Dynasty mode with new challenges and programs, so there may be more ways to earn the cover athletes in the future.
