How to fix error code 4 in Warzone

Friendly reminder to check the server status.

Error code 4 is one of the most random errors to fix in Call of Duty Warzone. It seems to happen at unexpected times, and although gamers have been experiencing this since 2020, it still reappears now and then. The good news is that there are several things gamers can do to address this issue.

The first thing any Warzone player should do when they get hit with the error code 4 message is to check the server's status. This is done by visiting the Call of Duty website. If the servers are down for whatever reason, it will say so. If this is the case, gamers just need to wait until the server returns online.

If there are no server issues, gamers are free to try some basic remedies. One would be turning the console off and restarting it: this solution has a fairly high success rate for error code 4.

Another thing players can do is simply test the internet connection. Generally, Warzone will not run on a spotty connection, so players should either play nearby a router or on a PC with an Ethernet cable.

The issue could be a cached folder if none of these other remedies work. To fix this, gamers need to quit Warzone, exit Battle.Net, and find the Call of Duty Warzone folder in their File Explorer. Deleting the folder will not delete the application. Gamers can simply create a new folder and manually find the Warzone application.
