Azumarill may not be the best Pokémon to take with you to the competitive scene, but it’s an absolute terror in Tera Raids. You just need the right set of moves, Ability, and Nature, among others. Here’s the best Azumarill build for Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Best moves to give Azumarill for Tera Raids
If you’re going to use Azumarill in nothing but Tera Raids, the best moves to give it are the following:
- Belly Drum (egg move)
- Play Rough
- Waterfall (TM)
- A coverage move like Superpower or Double-Edge

Belly Drum is a move that raises your Attack by six stages at the cost of half of its user’s HP. When Azumarill uses STAB moves like Play Rough or Waterfall, its attacks are going to deal 450% damage with one Attack. If it has a Huge Power ability, it should boost this number even more.
Azumarill can change Abilities with Ability Capsules, which can be bought from Mesagoza's Chansey Supply for P100,000.
The only flaw of this setup is how Azumarill can’t learn a recovery move other than Draining Kiss and Rest, which won’t help it live long in a Tera Raids. Still, that should be okay. Even if stat boosts are lost when Azumarill faints, you can always use Belly Drum again. Anyway, it only takes one extra turn!
Then, give Azumarill a Nature that boosts Attack, like Adamant or Brave. The case is different if you plan to use it in the field or competitively. Use Proteins and HP Ups to increase its HP and Attack EVs. This should let it hit hard are survive longer. You can buy proteins and HP Ups in Chansey’s Supply for P20,000. At zero EV, it should take you 26 of each vitamin to max out that stat.
