  • Nature: The Modest nature is a must for this build. We are focusing on Special Attack, which the Modest nature will increase this stat. This will let Armarouge inflict maximum damage with Stored Power.
  • Ability: You should use Armarouge with its Weak Armor ability. When a physical attack hits it, it will lower Armarouge's Defense but raise its Speed, allowing it to move faster and increase the damage of Stored Power.
  • Moves:
    • Stored Power: This is really the only move you will need for Armarouge for this build. As we want to defeat Greninja in one turn, you will only need to have this move prepared. You are free to learn whatever other moves you want, but Stored Power is the only one that matters.
  • Effort Values (EV): You should invest 252 into HP and 252 into Special Attack. You can place the remaining 4 EV points into Defense or Special Defense at your choice. This will give Armarouge more survivability and allow Stored Power to hit harder.
  • Held Item: Weakness Policy is a must-have for this build. When the Pokémon holding this is hit by a super-effective attack, it will raise the Pokémon's Attack and Special Attack. This is crucial for maximizing Armarouge's Stored Power damage.
  • Tera Type: We recommend going with the Psychic Tera type. This ensures Stored Power does as much damage as possible and removes Armarouge's weakness to Hydro Pump. Night Slash can still affect it, but this can trigger Weakness Policy.

How to use the Best Armarouge Build for Greninja Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

This build for Armarouge requires three other Pokémon—Florges, Oranguru, and Mimikyu. 101Leafy breaks down how this strategy works, and if you pull it off correctly, you can defeat Greninja in only one turn. Here is how to use the best Armarouge build for the Greninja Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

Give Oranguru the Choice Specs item, have it know Foul Play, and ensure it has the Symbiosis ability. For Florges, you need the Weakness Policy held item, Helping Hand move, and Symbiosis ability. Finally, Mimikyu must know Fling and be holding the Petaya Berry.

Have Florges use Helping Hand turn one on Armarouge, and Oranguru use Foul Play on Florges. This chain will transfer the stat boosts from Weakness Policy to Armarouge and pass around the held items. Then, Mimikyu should use Fling on Armarouge to throw the Petaya Berry at it, raising its Special Attack and triggering Weak Armor and Weakness Policy. After all this, simply use Stored Power to defeat Greninja.
