Best class for Goldmary in Fire Emblem Engage

If you thought Hortensia was good, have you seen her retainers?

Goldmary is one of the late comers in Fire Emblem Engage. That doesn't mean she should be left on the bench, though, simply because of her speed tier and huge bulk. The worst aspect about Goldmary is likely her Hero class, which doesn't accomplish much. She can quickly become an enemy phase monster with a class change, though.

Which is the best class for Goldmary in Fire Emblem Engage?

When players get Goldmary in Fire Emblem Engage, they're definitely going to want to reclass her into Great Knight. This is because she has a shockingly high Defense growth rate (55). After the reclass, she should have huge HP, huge Defense, and enough Strength to punch holes into enemies.

Of course, when it comes to the defensive tanks in the game, some players wonder why General isn't a strong option. This all has to do with movement. Not only do Generals have low movement naturally, but they get hindered by every terrain in the game (mountains, trees, rivers, etc.).

Great Knight, on the other hand, gives Goldmary the mobility of a Paladin along with the bulk of a General. Goldmary wants to be on the front lines baiting in enemies for teammates to exploit. As a General or Armor Knight, Goldmary will have trouble reaching those front lines.

One other tip for Goldmary is to try and give her a Brave weapon as soon as possible. She will lose her capability to kill enemies in one round because her Speed takes a huge hit when switching over to Great Knight. An easy remedy to this issue is to give her a Brave Lance or Brave Sword which attacks twice anyways. She also does very well with the Ike ring attached to bait in enemies and clean up afterwards with Great Aether.
