How to get the Wavebuster in Metroid Prime Remastered

Metroid Prime Remastered introduced three new additions to the Super Missile: The Wavebuster, the Flamethrower, and the Ice Spreader. While all of these are nice to have, the Wavebuster might be the most essential of them all. Without it, Samus will have much trouble with the hordes of Troopers that spawn late game (as well as the Cloaked Drone in the Phazon Mines).

Where can players find the Wavebuster in Metroid Prime Remastered?

The Wavebuster is located in the Tower of Light, a section of the Chozo Ruins in Metroid Prime Remastered. Players often miss this area, because it involves backtracking to the room where Samus fought her first Plated Beetle. Samus will also need the Spider Ball upgrade before coming back here.

Instead of a Plated Beetle, Samus may find some Chozo Ghosts when she comes back to this room. After defeating them, players might notice a Boost Ball halfpipe behind them. Using this will give Samus access to a Spider Ball track on the roof which takes her to the other side of the room.

Samus will find a door at the end of the Spider Ball track which takes her into the Tower of Light. This is a pretty straightforward area with many ascending platforms that Samus needs to climb. On the sides will be blocks of Cordite, which means Samus can blow them away with Missiles. Doing so will cause some of the platforms to fall, making them easy for Samus to jump to. Some of the blocks are covered with Oculi, though, so players will have to aim their missiles as to avoid the Oculi.

Plated Puffers will also come out the sides at times, but they aren't much of a threat. Samus can take them out with a couple of Missiles. Once at the top, Samus will find the Wavebuster upgrade, which sends out a continuous stream of electrical energy. This gives Samus the ability to quickly dispatch rooms of Troopers by using this upgrade. It's also a quick way to defeat the Cloaked Drone in the Phazon Mines, which hovers over the Power Bomb.
