What do the Red & Gold Masks do in Sons of the Forest?

In Sons of the Forest, your most annoying enemies are cannibals. They will attack in waves, unfazed by your weapons. As those pesky mutated creatures are always lurking, you'll need to do something to make your life easier. That's where some cosplay comes to play. For this, you can choose between Gold and Red Masks. Now you just need to know what the Red & Gold Masks do in Sons of the Forest.

How to use Red and Gold Masks in Sons of the Forest

While the cannibals act as a horde, their community has some order. For starters, those who wear masks are deemed more important. Not just that, but Red Masks scare away some cannibals in Sons of the Forest. The Gold Mask presents you as one of the more important cannibals, making others fear and respect you.

How to get Red Mask in Sons of the Forest

The best way to obtain the Red Mask in Sons of the Forest is to create one using the 3D printer. You can make multiple Red Masks this way. Those printers are located in underground facilities that can be found around the map. You'll need to find keycards and use them in facilities to use some of those printers. Now that you know how to get the Red Mask, your next goal would be the Gold Mask.

How to get Gold Mask in Sons of the Forest

You'll have to find a facility in the northeastern part of the island to get the Gold Mask in Sons of the Forest. Make sure to acquire Maintenance Keycard before you head to the cave facility. To be sure you're on the right track, follow the instructions on how to find the Golden Armor, as it's located in the same base. The Gold Mask is located in the Morgue on level 5, the same place as the Katana.
