What is a Pouka in Destiny 2?

Ah, so that's what those things are.

Destiny is a game full of mysteries. One such mystery is the enigmatic creatures called Pouka. We've caught glimpses of them before in Beyond Light but next to nothing since then. What we do know is that they play a larger role in the Lightfall expansion. Here's what we know about the little floating fish.

What are the flying fish in Destiny 2?

The Pouka are koi-like creatures that originate from Neptune, specifically Neomuna. There, they swim in Pouka Ponds. The first appearance of the Pouka was with Elsie Bray in the Beyond Light expansion. Outside its appearance in a single cinematic, it is also mentioned in the lore tab for the Quicksilver Storm auto rifle. There, Elsie Bray encounters the juvenile creature on Ganymede.

As for what the Pouka do, aside from looking pretty as they gracefully fly through the sky, we simply have no idea. Bungie has been teasing them here and there since Lightfall was announced but has been mum about the details. As they're an entirely different entity, it's extremely unlikely we'll get to use them as a Ghost shell, but stranger things have happened in the Destiny universe.
