How to cross the bridge at Rito Village in Zelda TotK (Tears of the Kingdom)

Reach Rito Village in no time.

As you head to the Hebra region for the Regional Phenomena main quest, your path to Rito Village will be blocked by a broken bridge and a large gap you cannot fly across. Not all is lost, though—there is a way that I have found! Here's how to cross the bridge at Rito Village in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

To get across the gap, located just west of the Lucky Clover Gazette, you must use a fire and a Hylian Pine Cone to create a strong updraft that propels you high enough to float to the other side. Yeah, it's that simple. I spent way too long trying to figure that out.

How to start a fire in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

To start a fire in ToTK, you need a bundle of Wood and some Flint. Luckily, a handful of each is found just outside the Lucky Clover Gazette, stacked on crates—so if you don't have any, you're in luck. I didn't and was pleasantly surprised to find that the game gives you a helping hand there.

With the Wood and Flint in hand, return to the broken bridge and drop both of the materials on the floor, making sure that the Flint is touching the Wood. Then smack the Flint with your weapon to create a spark and light a fire.

Now you've got a fire going, throw a Hylian Pine Cone on it to generate a windy updraft. Jump into it, and it'll give you enough height to cross over the gap and reach Rito Village on the other side.

Like Flint and Wood, it's easy to find a Hylian Pine Cone in Tears of the Kingdom. Simply look under trees nearby and you'll spot a few on the ground. Because there are multiple here, make sure you stock up in case you need an updraft in the future!
