System Shock Junction Box puzzles – How to solve

Complete these puzzles and unlock new areas.

While exploring the mechanized world in System Shock Remake, I came across several brain-racking puzzles that can be exceptionally tricky to solve. These puzzles are present on almost every level and they are trickier at higher difficulties. You will come across Junction Box puzzles early on in the game, and completing these puzzles reveal certain areas that you can access. Here's how to solve Junction Box puzzles in System Shock.

Junction Box Puzzle Solutions in System Shock

Junction Box puzzles consist of two different types of problems. One of them is a Wire Circuit puzzle, while the other is a Power Switch puzzle. You will encounter both of them while progressing in the game, and unlocking these puzzles reveals new areas. Here are the different types of Junction Box puzzles you will come across and how to complete them.

Wire Circuit Puzzle

The Wire Circuit puzzle consists of a series of panels, rotating dials, and red square switches. One of the red square switches will be glowing, indicating that it is in power on state. The other red switch will not be glowing, indicating a power-off. Your job is to connect the wires and path out a way to get power to both switches. You can tap the dials to rotate the wires and also change the direction of the panels. Keep in mind that at higher difficulty levels, you'll get unidirectional panels and closed dials, making the puzzle even tricker.

To solve a Wire Circuit puzzle, try to form a path from the glowing red switch and take this path to the closest dial near the other red switch. Once that's done, rotate the panels and work on the dials adjacent to the power-off red switch, and try to form a path. You will find that most of these paths can intersect at certain points. Simply rotating the panels and dials in the correct direction secures the connection. After completing the connecting in the Junction Box puzzle, a new area will open up, and you can access it directly from there on.

Power Switch Puzzle

The other Junction Box puzzle you will come across is the Power Switch puzzle consisting of a few switches, wire holders, dials, and wire traces. This puzzle can be tricky as you need to redirect the power to the Battery Cell by placing the wires and rotating the dial to set up the connection. The battery itself has two blue lines, which indicate the level of power cells. Your target should be to connect the power in a way where the charge remains between the blue lines on the Battery Cells.

Check the image above to see the yellow vertical lines that show the power levels. You need to make sure the power level is between the blue lines. To do this, you need to rotate the switches and dials in a way where the connection gives the maximum power. Higher difficulties will have more wire traces, switches, and holders.
