Poltchageist and Sinistcha have a very fun playstyle in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. While they have enough tools to be very defensive (Matcha Gotcha, Strength Sap, Life Dew, Mega Drain, etc.), they also have a huge Special Attack stat. This means that players can find loads of different builds with these Pokémon, and therefore, use different natures.
Which are the best natures for Poltchageist and Sinistcha in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?
The best natures for Poltchageist and Sinistcha in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are as follows:
- Timid (+ Speed, -Atk)
- Modest (+ Sp. Atk, - Atk)
- Calm (+ Sp. Def, - Atk)
Sinistcha might just be a blank canvas in terms of Pokémon battles. The easiest way to build it, though, would be a Timid set with Choice Specs. Sinistcha only has a base Speed of 70, so it really can't be considered a sweeper. Choice Specs might allow Sinistcha to demolish opponents in that middling speed tier, though.
Since it's not that fast to begin with, Sinistcha could also run Modest. This will help it blow up strong tanks like Amoongus, Toxapex, and Corviknight. Trainers could use Calm Mind to boost their Special Attack, or just keep Choice Specs and spam Shadow Ball.
Calm nature is another option and is the best choice for defensive sets, as Sinistcha has a huge Defense stat (106 at base). Trainers could double down on physical defense, but Sinistcha also gets the move Strength Sap, which cuts the opponent's HP while replenishing the user's health. Therefore, trainers can invest instead in Special Defense, which can be boosted with Calm Mind, and Sinistcha will be able to resist both Special and Physical attacks.

How to choose the best nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
When it comes to deciding on a nature, trainers simply need to keep in mind which role the Pokémon is filling. Pokémon that run different natures can fill different roles, which Sinistcha is a perfect example of. It can either be a defensive presence or a strong breaker, and that will determine which nature is best for it.
