If something isn't being engaged the way it was intended to be in Destiny 2, Bungie will make adjustments. This time, it's Banshee-44's turn.
What is Gunsmith Focusing in Destiny 2?
With the start of Season 23, everyone's favorite weapons merchant will begin offering Legendary Engram focusing. This applies to four different manufacturers in Season 23 (Häkke, Omolon, Suros, and Veist) with "Field-Forged" weapons coming in Season 24.
Finally, with Gunsmith Focusing, Banshee-44 will no longer offer his traditional weapon selection. The following weapons are being pulled from the world pool and will rotate through Xur's inventory.

Season 23 Gunsmith Focusing Pool
The Season 23 pool consists of weapons released from Season 16 through Season 19. Once added to the Gunsmith Focusing pool, they will no longer be available from Legendary Engram world drops.

Gunsmith Focusing Cost
Focusing on a specific engram will cost Guardians three Gunsmith Engrams and 5000 Glimmer. This is the equivalent of focusing on a Ritual Weapon.
