How to fix ‘Crossplay not working’ in Lords of the Fallen

Are you experiencing errors with crossplay and multiplayer?

Lords of the Fallen has some great multiplayer modes, allowing you to play co-op with up to three players and sometimes even join unsuspecting players in their own worlds. Since the experience is equipped with crossplay features, it won't even matter what platform you choose to play on. However, you will need your crossplay connection up and running smoothly in order to enjoy these multiplayer options, so here's how to fix any problems you may run into as you play.

Lords of the Fallen 'Crossplay not working' solutions

As soon as you enter the game, no matter what platform you are on, you should see a text pop-up at the bottom of the screen, prompting you that you've entered 'cross-network play.' However, if this happens to pop up telling you you were 'unable to join cross-network,' you may need to take a few steps to restore your connection.

The first solution I suggest is to head to the nearest shrine. Here, you can usually enter the Multiplayer options where you can invite or join other players. If your connection is down, this 'Multiplayer' button will appear instead as a 'Log in' option. Once you press that, it will try to reconnect you with online servers. Occasionally, you may also run into a problem where it will continue to tell you that you are 'unable to log in.' If that is the case, you may need to take a few more steps.

Open your menu and select Settings at the top right side. Then, switch over to the Multiplayer tab. Here, you will have different settings you can turn off to allow crossplay and online functions. Ensure you have these all turned on to 'Yes.' Apply your settings, and then exit the menu. You may see a change right away, but if not, close out your game and restart.

If your settings were already turned on and you're still having issues with it, it could suggest a bigger problem behind the scenes. There are a few other steps you could take to try to solve them:

  • Check your internet connection. (Crossplay and online functions will only work if you are connected to a stable internet connection. You may need to restart your router.)
  • Check if game servers are down. (Sometimes, the servers can become overcrowded or go down unexpectedly. You can check its status by using sites like Downdetector or by checking the Lords of the Fallen official Twitter page for updates.)
  • Check the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live server status. (It could also be an outage on the specific platform you are using. Check the status of their servers to ensure there aren't issues.)
  • Restart your game and/or device. (Sometimes, the best solution is to give your game and console a reboot and retry again. You may have an update or patch to install that will fix the issue.)
  • Wait a while and try again. (If there is a problem with a service outage, whether the game itself or your platform, the best way to fix the problem is to wait a while for them to be restored and reconnect again later.)

If you've tried all the above solutions to no avail, you could always try contacting the Lords of the Fallen support team and see if they can personally help you with any bugs or glitches you are running into. Hopefully, you'll have your multiplayer up and running again in no time!
