How to get the free Alan Wake Outfit and Back Bling in Fortnite

Several great skin crossovers were teased for the Fortnitemares 2023 event, including Jack Skellington, Michael Myers, and Alan Wake. While they are all bound to appear in the Item Shop eventually, with Alan Wake 2 being published under Epic Games, you can claim his skin for free.

If you purchase any edition of Alan Wake 2 on the Epic Games Store before the release date on October 27, 2023, you will receive the Alan Wake Outfit and "Alan's Messenger Bag" Back Bling completely for free. Purchasing Alan Wake 2 on the Epic Games Store will still allow you to use the Fortnite items on a different platform, as long as you have your accounts properly connected. If you haven't yet linked your accounts, you can learn how to do so on the Epic Games help page.

Will the Alan Wake skin be in the Item Shop in Fortnite?

If you happen to miss out on the exclusive deal for the Alan Wake outfit, you will still have other opportunities to get it when it's released to the in-game Item Shop. Like the other special Fortnitemares crossover sets, the Alan Wake "Waking Nightmare" set is planned to be featured in the Item Shop for V-Bucks at a later time. Don't worry if you purchase the set in Fortnite before deciding to order Alan Wake 2; you'll earn a refund of V-Bucks to your account.

If you're already planning on trying out Alan Wake 2, you won't want to miss out on this opportunity for the free outfit and Back Bling. Just be sure to order through the Epic Games Store and properly connect your accounts.
